I'm glad you like the post and I'm really surprised that it grows in your area too - I didn't realise that. Pay attention to whether you're dealing with ackerschachtelheim or marsh schachtelheim.
Because you can recognise Ackerschachtelheim from dry areas. It has a broom (longer fibres) and is less reddish on the limbs. The marsh quackgrass, on the other hand, is poisonous, has no broom and the rings on the limbs are much more reddish. It tends to grow in mouldy areas with a lot of moisture.
If you want to make a tincture from the leaves (limbs) of the plants, leave the brew to infuse for no longer than 48 hours. In the case of slurry, you can leave it to infuse for up to 3-4 weeks - this would be best. For a tea that has a variety of effects (e.g. promoting connective tissue, increasing brain function due to the silicon, potassium for us and the carrots in the garden, magnesium for the muscles, anti-inflammatory and regulating the metabolism), dry the plant and pour boiling water over it if necessary. Then leave the tea to infuse for 10-15 minutes.
I hope this information provides you with a use for the Schachtelheim. I look forward to reading from you too!

Thank you for providing lots of information. Is this the one you talking about? Today we were walking in the forest nearby there they growing in huge amounts. My husband told me the name but I haven't picked it. Now I read your post and regret not picking them, but they are all around even those dark colors once looked like sticks. good night friend. :)

I call it fateful that you have seen the Ackerschachtelheim and that I am reporting on it... I don't believe in coincidences, so the Ackerschachtelheim will be good for us and our garden at the moment.

Yes, that looks very much like Ackerschachtelheim in the picture. But please always check again.
Have a good night sister in spirit, I wish you a benevolent night.
