I can tell you as a former employee and one of the first Apple Pay techs... It ain't gonna happen with them, lol. Believe me, I put up a fight, lol, I was told to hush, lol.

When was that though? I'm sure a lot changes over time...but I still think you're right merely because tax laws make crypto accounting so complicated. If those change though, I'll think we will see crypto being used more as money.

I left in 2020. Not much at all has changed on that end. Tim Cook is a buddy to the bankers and investors, not to those of us that actually want to see innovation like Steve was. Steve would have done an Apple chain or something like that.

damn I would love to hear what goes on there that people don't know. Have you written about it or could it get you in trouble?

Na, won’t get in trouble, I don’t work for them anymore, haha. To be honest, it’s not as interesting as you would think. They don’t tell the employees much at all. We find out stuff the same time the public does unless you are part of product launch team like I was with Apple Pay/Apple Cash. With that you are basically given a NDA until launch. That’s a part of how they keep things under wraps until they announce it. We weren’t even allowed to talk about rumors and such. Apple is a clut-ure for sure, lol. All I know now is that I still trusted their encryption and privacy features, but governments are trying to force them to either kill E2EE or give them a “legal back door”. And that I am not down with. But then again, is anything in the digital world safe anymore?
