Mining has begun! Merge mining $DOGE and $LTC on the Goldshell Mini Doge III

Not on solar yet, rocking on grid power, but wanted to get it all set up and running at least! The old Bitmain power supply is louder than the miner, lol.

This is actually the exhaust side, but it's cold in the workshop so I have it turned and doubling as a heater, lol.

If I am building a miner in the future will be to warm a pool, 24/7 warm water 365 days a year...

That would be an interesting project for sure. I know that this one is helping me warm my workshop right now, lol. It's cold as hell, lol.

I bet... here is not that warm, but I am going to the beach... 20-22's...C and the water very close to that too, 19 ish.

That would be a good drone flying kind of day for me at the beach.

It was a bit windy but drones would do.

Instead I went full mode father...

I saw someone have a setup where they passed the hot air through a massive 100 litre water coil, was an ancient video probably 7-8 years old. I wonder if the water would end up boiling even at that size, would have to constantly drain the pool and have a stream of ice cold water coming through. But then if you can make a system that spas can use or something… cause heating pools is VERY expensive so being able to monetize the heating process would be nuts

Nah... if me doing it, I would watercool the chips themselves, then loop some radiators directly inside the pool, and just by convection the water would warm up, or alternatively, if the pool already has a pump for filtering, then loop the radiator on a box after the filter before dropping the water back into the pool.

hahaha those power supplies are crazy loud, crazy to see a merge miner out in the wild, I forgot what ratio of doge/litecoin it spits out and how the pool infrastructure is looking like these days

Yeah, I have a 3D print file for a muffler for the power supply, lol. It came with the muffler files for a Bitmain L3 or S9 style miner, lol.

Not too sure about the ratio. My pool pays out in DOGE and LTC, but mines all the available scrypt coins and auto converts to the top 2. I just got it turned on, so I'll know in the the next 24 hours.

I am already looking at a second miner...

its just so fun, even if technically its better to just buy and hold the coins. Sometimes putting all the pieces together, booting it up, seeing it all work and coins starting to come in, the satisfaction that comes from it all is priceless :)

Well, I am actually contributing to the network which gives it all meaning.

How would it be called if you power it with solar? autarkic? organic mining? self-sufficient?

Yeah, it's 16F tonight, so yeah, anything helps, lol. And if it makes money while doing it, then even better, lol.
