Evacuated Situations_20240526_162831_0000.png

Living in the Province particularly near at the river is not easy, and it needs to keep the water level monitored specially when there is a typhoon hits the place. Today, I will share the adventurous and tiring situations I have last days when a typhoon hits Mindanao last day. It was not expected to have heavy rains precipitated our place and it was very shocking. The weather bulletin announced that there will a typhoon hit our place but it wasn't included the typhoon category, and we was expected to have light to moderate rains. It was 10 In the morning when the rain started and it was heavy rain, it continued until it reached at 3 In the afternoon.

As for that, My Father was decided to evacuated us in safe place because of our daughter. Our place will be very dangerous if it will continued to rain that is why, we packed our things and get ready to evacuate.

The first place we passing by is this muddy stream located near at the river. It was completely muddy and the road trail was very slippery. We decided to walked barefoot so that it will be very easy to walk and avoided of being slippery. The dried stream was now completely filled with water and it keeps rising up, it is better to cross this stream while there are still no floods. It keeps raining while at the walking adventure and good thing we brought an umbrella, it keeps us from getting wet because of the rain.

As we kept walking at the muddy road, we also noticed this big cracks of soil and it was eroded because of the water comes from the rain. This will be known as landslide and it was also very dangerous to people who walked near at this place. The landslides was continued to eroded and the road trail was already nearly reached.

As we reached at Sitio Makawa, we've seen this fallen branches of Ipil tree and it was scattered to the road. It was slightly difficult to passing by because it needs to removed those fallen branches away from the road. The heavy rain continues and a slight winds blown to the trees and grass. We hurriedly went to the steel bridge so that we can cross to the safest place and we also do more careful of walking, and watching those coconut trees to see if there are coconut fruits will fall to the ground.

With the help of my Husband's Mother, she carried our daughter while we carried the bags and other important things to brought just like important documents. The black basket were my husband was holding was contains a diaper, wipes, milk and biscuits. It takes a few hours of walking at Sitio Makawa and the only thing we heard was a wind blowing and a splashing of water and rain.

Finally we arrived at the bridge at it was very slippery to crossed by and it needs to be careful by crossing this bridge. The water level was keep rising up and was really hard to find any vacant passenger vehicle because of the rain. I was very thankful to my Husband's Mother for helping us and guided us to the alternative road going to the safe place. This bridge is very important to all residents who lived in the Sitio, we can easily crossed the river even if there is a big flood occur. It was not very easy for us to walked on the muddy road, climbing in a slope places just to went in the safest areas. We also passes by in the slope places filled with more grass. The next day, the rain was over and lucky the water at the river was not over flowed.

The rains brought by the typhoon are also very important because it watered the plants and it is a perfect time to plant vegetables and crops. Thank you for visiting and reading my post, have a good night everyone.

It's good that you do the preventive measure during the typhoon which is to evacuate in a safe place. A job well done.😊

Keep safe Ma'am @thelivingworld and your family. I observed that the soil in your area is soft especially on the area near the river.
