Splinterlands Virtual Real Estate Updates: Continuing The Journey

My most recent POST has garnered so much attention!
It's been mainly about starting the Splinterlands Land game from the very beginning and owning a sole, non-Grain plot.
How can you survive without harvesting your own Grain?
I hope this has been eye-opening to new and veteran gamers alike. This is my way of showing that smaller land players can indeed play the game and still earn something out of it.
Now scale that to 5 plots so you also get the Ranked Play bonus. How about 20 plots?
What about 50 plots so you can be called a Land Baron?
I typically write posts like this on a Saturday or a Sunday. I know I will be away this weekend so I will bump the writing of this article a day early!
Without further ado, let's get into it!

The Grum's Canyon Experiment
Let's see how our buddy, Grum, has been doing.
At 68% worksite capacity with 632 Stone ready for collection, let's see what we can do.

We are well aware that we are lacking Grain. We need at least 2,800 Grain. Let's proceed to the Trade Hub in order to obtain some.

We are now ready to harvest our Stone.

Based on the image above, 569.349 Stone has been added to our stockpile. Deducting the cost of grain (226.559 Stone), we net 342.79 Stone.
In today's prices, this is equivalent to 39.375 DEC.

I rented Grum on Monday, June 2nd, for 2.352 DEC/day. At the time of writing, it's Friday, June 6th. We've employed Grum for almost 5 full days.
- 39.375 - (2.352 x 5 days) = 27.615 DEC net income.
Tell me again you can't make any income from land.

Weekly Updates: Routine Harvest
Every other day or so, I would harvest my land resources and swap them for DEC. I also collect taxes from my Keeps every Saturday.
As stated above, I will be away this weekend so my weekly tax collection was done on a Friday instead.

No totems discovered this time. Maybe next week!
I also earned the following from resource swapping:

As planned, the taxes collected from the Region 46 Keep were converted to Guild Power and were used to power up our Guild's buildings.

The last step of my Weekly Routine is increasing my position in the Grain-DEC Liquidity Pool.

I now have a 1% position in the LP! Might be meaningless to some but for me this is the fruit of my labor!

Keep 'em comin'!

New Assets: No New Purchases But More Activation
I haven't found any plots I liked recently.
What I have done, though, is activate more plots in an attempt to further improve my Efficiency Ratios!
87 active plots! Getting closer and closer to a full 100!

What did this do to my ratios, then? Hmmh...

Optimization Section: Current Stats
Not only have I used up my remaining power cores, I ended up purchasing more! A portion of my weekly DEC were used to pay for those cores.
Man, these add up!

Land Plot Efficiency (LPE) Improvements
Land Plot Efficiency (LPE) = (Total DEC Equivalent generated/hr)/ (Number of active Plots)
We can also use Beaker's TOOL to find this number. Just keep in mind, there might be some variance on the results as the resource-to-DEC exchange rates are not constant.

Better than a few days ago. So what did I do? It used to be under 5.5.
I replaced workers to fully take advantage of the 10% Terrain Preference Bonus. I had some Earth workers staked on Bogs (+10% Bonus to Water and Death units).
Also made the most of the staked DEC per max worker by replacing the Regular Foils with Gold Foils.

Wait... rentals?
Yes, rentals.
Land Card Efficiency (LCE) Improvements
Land Card Efficiency (LCE) = (Total PP employed)/ (Total DEC Equivalent generated/hr)
The image below shows that I have an LCE ratio of 2887. Lower than last time.
I'd like to mention again that it's the BASE PP that is calculated for this metric, not BOOSTED.

Land DEC Efficiency (LDE) Improvements
Land DEC Efficiency (LDE) = (total_dec_stake_in_use)/(DEC/hr*24)
My total staked DEC per one of the images above is 1,777,709. My hourly DEC is approximately 414 DEC/hr.

Even lower than rate mention last time. Again, this could be due to the fluctuation of the resource-to-DEC exchange rates. I didn't remove any production from my plots. I actually activated more plots and added more production!

Using to the formula, my LDE would be 1,777,709 / (414*24) = 178.92.
As shown on the chart below, my LDE is 152.58.
There's some variance with the numbers but I think these should be fine.

In one of my previous posts, I mentioned:
In case I want to further improve my LDE, here's what I can do. See samples below. Both are Rare, Natural Bogs in my home Region 50, Ia'telda. Both plots have max level workers,
I can:
Replace the max level RF Venari Wavesmiths with max level GF Chaos Legion Commons (Death or >Water for terrain preference bonus) like Pelacor Decievers. It will require the same amount of staked DEC (10,000 for max level units) but will have more Production Points meaning more net resources available for swapping to DEC. More hourly DEC earned = higher denominator = lower ratio.
Replace the max level RF Venari Wavesmiths with lower level cards that can match the same production points (i.e. 23 BCX Rare Beta units). Lower DEC staking requirements will be needed due to the proportion of the staked card's BCX to the total BCX of its max level version. Lower DEC staked = lower numerator = lower ratio. Can also use fewer cards as long as the target PP per plot is met.
Sample comparison HERE.
So what do you think I should do? What would you do?
As shown in the screenshots above, I replaced the RF Venari Wavesmiths with all GF Pelacor Deceivers.
This is a more efficient way of utilizing the Staked DEC: 2,000 PP vs 1,100 PP per card per 10,000 DEC staked.

The Case For Rentals
There are no more daily rentals available, only seasonal rentals.
Just in case you're not aware, these seasonally rented cards can also be used on land.
Let's see how much it costs to rent these max level, Gold Foil Pelacor Deceivers.

1.261 DEC/day (over 1,500 PP/DEC!) equates to $0.001261 assuming DEC is at peg.
A max card costs $6.50 if you purchase it.
- $6.50 / $.001261/day = 5,154.639 days = 14.12 years. Years.
Is it worth buying the card instead? Or renting? Your call.
Of course, this is assuming that the rental market would hold prices like this for a long, long time.
Run, don't walk. Or roll over. Or do whatever you want. Just make sure you do your own research first.

There are some good rental deals out there! The table I made is really helping with figuring out which ones to use. I'll probably establish a "max rent" list to see what is the maximum price one should pay for which card, so it will be profitable.
You got that Fireblade very cheap, by the way :-D The other Legendary CL GF are at around 6 DEC/BCX at the moment. Still profitable on stone though:
Yep, back when I was min-maxing, this is similar to what I did.
Over time, my approach changed depending on what's available on the market.
Last year, there was a lot of fire sales too - both land and cards.
That was when I accumulated most of my assets for land.
Well done! I identified what I want for now, and will be buying each time an asset reaches the threshold. The CPC really helped a lot on changing my focus, and I'm sure it'll balance things out. Once I have a little more money overflow, I'll see if I can get some good deals in the discord as well - sometimes, there are some nice things floating around.
It's articles like these that make me wanna boost my land holdings. Great work, J!
Thanks, bro! There's so much potential in land. It will be a critical part of the Splinterlands ecosystem!
Thanks for highlighting the rental market savings for small collection land holders. I’ll be taking a good look at the market!
So many great deals on rentals! Good luck!
Thanks for sharing! - @azircon
