RE: Dashed Hopes

You are viewing a single comment's thread:

It is clear that you have a passion for writing, and hold high aspirations for yourself. This comes through in your submissions. However, your writing would benefit from more show than tell. Share some anecdotes to add life to your stories and to pull the reader in - without this, the writing will fall a little flat. Some proofreading and editing before publication to refine and iron out spelling errors, grammatical errors especially related to mixed tenses, and punctuation (long run-on sentences) would also improve the flow of your stories. I have brought this to your attention before - the need to dedicate some time to editing. In The Ink Well, we also expect writers to focus on the quality of their submission. If you have aspirations to be a traditionally published author one day, you need to put in the work to refine your submissions to ensure they are the best you can make them.
