that bit about rulers shaping devotion through power really landed. In my head it reads like a balance sheet of belief, where assets inflate under strong propaganda then get written down when the goverment changes. not denying anyone's faith, just saying the po;litics of it leaves an audit trail that looks very human, which is funny and a little sobering :)
