Nach dem bisher sicher besten Drittel der Serie aus Sicht von New Jersey stand es 3:0 und so etwas darfst du dir in so einem Spiel nicht mehr nehmen lassen.

Allerdings hatte ich nicht mit der "Tagesform" der Schiedsrichter gerechnet.
Es ist in der NHL leider eigentlich eh schon normal dass in den Spielverlauf eingegriffen wird wenn eine Mannschaft früh weit vorne oder eben hinten liegt, aber das war brutal gestern.

Noch Ende des 1. Drittels gibt es eine Strafe gegen Glass wegen Behinderung, die Szene wurde mehrmals gezeigt, da war gar nichts.
Ein normaler Zusammenstoß im Mitteldrittel und der Puck war auch noch dort, das kann niemals eine Behinderung sein.
Wie soll es anders sein, natürlich nutzt das Carolina und das war für sie die Initialzündung die so nie passieren hätte dürfen.

In der Folge fällt das das 2. und 3. Tor zum Ausgleich, aber die Devils schlagen sofort zurück mit dem 4:3, was kann man da tun?
Aja, man gibt eine Strafe wegen Beinstellen bei dem der Carolina Spieler fast einen Spagat macht damit er beim Gegner einhaken kann und weil da nicht gleich ein Tor fällt, gleich noch eine Strafe (ok die kann man geben, muss aber nicht), damit dann beim 5 gegen 3 sicher einer drinnen ist, war dann auch so.
Während der ganzen Zeit gelten für die Carolina Spieler keine Regeln, hoher Stock, mehrfache Cross Checks alles egal.

Im letzten Drittel wird dann erstmal wieder halbwegs "normal" gepfiffen, aber die Krönung kam noch.
Ein Schiedsrichter zeigt eine Strafe gegen Carolina an, Goalie Markström fährt zur Bank für den sechsten Feldspieler und der andere Schiri pfeift eine 2 Minutenstrafe gegen die Devils wegen "zu viele Spieler auf dem Eis", so etwas habe ich in 30 Jahren noch nicht erlebt.
Die Strafe wird dann zwar annuliert, aber den Devils wurde die Angriffsmöglichkeit 6 gegen 5 genommen.

Es geht dann in die Verlängerung dort war Carolina klar überlegen, es dauert aber noch bis in die 5. Minute der 2. Overtime bis zum Siegestreffer, natürlich wieder im Powerplay.
So geärgert über eine Schiedsrichterleistung habe ich mich schon lange nicht mehr.

Fazit: Man kann es nicht ändern, die Saison ist damit vorbei und Carolina war in dieser Serie auch die bessere Mannschaft das muss man sagen, aber ich hätte gerne gesehen dass diese Partie fair abläuft und was dann passiert wäre wenn man nochmal ein Spiel zuhause gehabt hätte, hat aber eben nicht sollen sein.

One referee indicates a penalty against Carolina, goalie Markström goes to the bench for the sixth field player and the other referee whistles a 2-minute penalty against the Devils for “too many players on the ice”, something I've never seen in 30 years.
The penalty is then canceled, but the Devils were deprived of their 6-on-5 attacking opportunity.

It then goes into overtime where Carolina was clearly superior, but it takes until the 5th minute of the 2nd overtime to score the winning goal, again on the powerplay of course.
