What is Hive. My Opinion.

I wrote a previous post asking the same thing. I asked the question in general and got a couple of replies.

There is a list there of the things most commonly said when the question is asked.
The common thing among them is the leaning toward saying the good thing. That is part of the mental problem with Hive. Everyone wants to avoid talking about what it fails at.
Brush it under the rug. Ignore it until it cannot be ignored and then insist you get the resources and HBD to fix it. Bit too much in familiarity with the Biden admin. Do nothing unless you can keep control of it.
The above can be read with a thought of sour grapes. I didn't get the support so many other things that failed did.
A waste of finance to cover ignorance.
With all of the people I have talked with. I have met no other with an equal enthusiasm as myself, about what Hive could do.
You will not meet anyone else on Hive with a clearer vision of what Hive can do.
The goal of Hive should be to be a part of every part of life. Everything else is a department within.
What is Hive?
Hive is a great example of great potential. Unfortunately, the potential is wasted.
Blogging.
This has its purpose. It is the first point of token distribution. Gradually this in appearance is levelling out on different heights.
The rewards provided from blogging disperse the Hive tokens around the world. Distributed rewards for actions and Hive Power. Sometimes just one other both.
Everyone has an opinion on how you should use yours and when not to. (Not really, but there is always the few).
The end result to blogging is CASH OUT.
No one can fault that. We all at some point cash out some and in some cases all.
Games.
Games also help with distribution of tokens. In many cases if not all add multiple new tokens to the exchanges available on chain.
The mindset behind games is it will bring new people to the chain that do not blog. To some degree yes. But the biggest target group available is still a small audience.
Game tokens do also offer distribution dispersal. Some not blogging will still play games and turn the game token to HIVE to CASH OUT. Adding to down pressure.
Economy.
The economy of the chain I question.
When the subsidy to the chain is provided by the chain. It does not give a true representation of strength.
There is an ever increasing downward pressure with no constructive measures to counter cash outs.
Just looking at those few things.
Why would any business take risk on utilising Hive.
Any serious company would do their research see these things. Walk away and never return.
Everything about Hive is a milking farm with a cow in a small field running out of grass.
I got a DM today in Discord.
Already done im done with hive there are some bad players and im not vowing my time to help them get richer so no call tomorrow, im sorry it has to go like this.
I must admit, I have felt the same thing over the years here.
Last night gave me the same feeling, Why bother?
There was quite a few people at the Crypto show in the Hive server last night. Many names I gave not seen for a while. All of the names I have at some point, touched on the topic of Hives future. All of the time falling on deaf ears.
Last nights show the same Idea mentioned by another got a great response, from those same ears.
The credit for the idea goes to someone else now. Although it is a watered down idea and does not start with a solid foundation.
There is much more to the things I have said than just the ripples on the surface of a deep lake. The project mentioned in the show is a private venture getting support from the chain.
Everything I have said gives ownership to the chain. Who gets to hold a position in the project is decided by the community's plural. That roles in to governance.

The road map is there just not the who holds position. Positions held by contract and accountability.
I see the pitfalls in doing things differently. For trying to take the simplest method and making it work. It will not.
But should I say anything?
When no questions are directed toward me for a project no longer mine.
I have developed and improved the concept and put the theory to action with positive results twice. No loss to anyone who provided some finance.

I can only assume you are talking about me.
But I would like to clarify several things.
I invited starkerz to visit me in Guatemala. When he came we discussed the idea of creating a tourist destination hive hub/hotel/cafe/events space.
We discussed logistics and what it would mean and if it was feasible for the block chain to own a property collectively.
We talked about if it fit more in dhf or value plan.
I was openly seeking troubleshooting feedback about the discussion as a whole.
I was excited that you had a similar idea. I was interested to hear about your thoughts and experience so far. I see multiple people having similar concepts as a verification of being on to something…that we are heading down the correct track of thought.
I have chosen to build my life around the concept of ‘yes, and…’
To me ‘no, but…’ gets humanity nowhere.
Competition as a threat is not my world view.
Conclusion.
I am not a threat to your idea.
I do not want or claim ownership over the idea and am at this point am simply discussing and thinking about the concept of real world hive ownership.
As you talked about how people on hive often don’t want to hear about the uglier side of hive.
I’ll make this observation that you can take or leave.
Your nature of communicating at times feels expectant, combative and often with a touch of victimhood.
If you think back over the years and thought about how you presented your ideas…is there any chance that the manner in which you reached out could be effecting the result that you have yet to receive the support you seek for
your ideas? 🧐
I truly like hearing your thoughts and I sense you are genuine caring human being and I appreciate your persistence in actioning this idea on a small scale on your own. That is admirable and I want to be clear that my intention is not to talk shit on you.
My mom often said that life is about knowing when you are getting in the way of yourself, that when a person feels held back…acknowledging one’s own part in being held back is essential to overcoming.
So while I often fail. I try to not be my own obstacle in this life.
I really do wish you the best and do not want to disuade or demotivate you. I am still open to supporting if it aligns with my life and capabilities.

You have heard me talk, We have typed in discord.
We both know my limitations.
We both know my mannerisms do not align with the acceptance of society norm.
Just taking those two negatives of me are the strongest part.
From that comes the psychology of you being a person that has more than the centred self in mind. YAY! bring forth the ripe fruit.
As I mentioned in the show. I am only now learning how to convey the thought.
I am a minimum of 4 years away before I have the opportunity to try something bigger. Then at that time I will also need to consider the cost and return blah blah.
No I did not mean you. You seem to be one that can think in a different box and view another box by memory for a comparison. You are not trapped to one live of thought.
Should you ever manage to do the unreachable and have my mind change. Then I will have been enlightened more.
I meant the chat in general. But then I should see more layers to this than others I thought about it longer. That obstacles observed are so easily overcome just by the nature of the project. (You suggested) and can then lead on to other things also is forgotten.
What I can imagine though. Is a selection from the chat joining together to form their group that can get funded by the DHF to do the same thing but under a private entity. Ultimately doing nothing for the chain.
Since the formation of the DHF I have said that any private project that can profit from its services should return some of those profits back to the chain.
I am still learning how to talk with people. It might be something I never master. It is also some I do not care to lose.
I see many obstacles will be in the way. You are a travelled person. I am sure,, well like you said. You say the yes, and...? nor the Why But..???
That is my history on Hive. My history outside before it. It does not matter what happens. We are all at the position we are. Though where I am might be a struggle for me. That is the time we help others to our own standing. Not a time to drag those above down.
So there is the post. I see something. I said something. I hear something. Should I say more. For I know what they will read. What they read will not be the intention behind the words wrote.
As for me and you. Well Mr B, I do not know you or am I under any impression that you think you know me. We are two people talking and a conversation in general terms is a sharing. I personally interpret those conversations as something like. Well that's that I think, If you can make use of that go do it.
I do not see any advantage to withholding any information about the things I have considered in all that I have considered in and around the possibilities of this project. I would have a strong opinion that I have gave it more meditation time than anyone else on the chain.
In the mean time I have done what others said they would like to see done with the chain and physical world interactions. Well ye know about that. The point there is I just move toward the next step and then climb it.
I wouldn't let ye stand on me back. I would give you a hand up if we were at that step together.
For anything personal. Well that is my torture and not your burden to bare. Above I released it that burden in the post. That the idea thought about for so long got all the questions directed elsewhere.
If you read what I type and read it as against you. You read what you are thinking and not the intention.

I didn’t read your message as against me. But it felt pointed toward me and overall it left me feeling that you thought your idea was getting commandeered.
I like to go directly at things. So I wrote my response in the spirit of clarification. That and I didn’t want to bullshit you.
I’m glad that you acknowledge am awareness of your manner playing a part in how your ideas have been received.
Sometimes we are what we are, but looking hard at ourselves we can slowly but surely make changes.
So your response to me I find hopeful for both you and the idea in general.
A slow steady grind. Painful at times, but yet one keeps stepping forward.
Honestly, I love the brainstorming and possibility phase. I get most excited about the process of creating.
I often fall short in the actioning phase.
I’m a throw the spaghetti at the wall and see what sticks kinda guy.
I like things that flow, I don’t mind the working toward something if I see an end in site.
So at this point I’m basically trying to see if any spaghetti is sticking to the wall.

What a great and profoundly important question to ask and explore - what is Hive? Well as we have discussed it's so many things and could be even more things, it's not just one thing and that's a good thing.
I have been thinking long and hard about this question since you sent it to me on Discord in a random DM a little while back. This question was even touched on in the last edition of the Crypto & Cola Show and I really wanted to expand on it because I still can't comprehensively answer your question, but it needs answering.
Some say it was not created for blogging, that was ancillary. Others say the initial concept was blog to earn so I really don't know the principal reason Dan and Ned created the legacy chain. I think they, like many others, envisioned it to have multiple purposes and blogging was a part of the concept. How central blogging was to the original idea I do not know.
As you have highlighted games also bring people to Hive. But I think, and I will keep saying this, Hive's greatest quality is found in the levels of innovation that are innate in the platform and concept. You can not escape it. So yes there's blogging, yes there's games, yes there's tokenised projects, yes there's socialising, yes there are a million and one ways to make money and play the entrepreneur but there is still so much more. Hive hasn't come anywhere near to fulfilling its true potential, despite all the achievements.
Others have attempted to answer your question and I still haven't heard a comprehensive answer as to what Hive is. But therein is probably a large part of the answer.
I really think we should expand on this at the next show and get more opinions from people, what do you think?

I think what is needed to be seen is not there yet to see.
All of the answers that say good things about Hive should be ignored. Then it is easier to see what from is left and unsaid what is needed.
