Pokemon Blue Venonat Starter - Part Twenty Nine

End of Pokemon Tower and heading down Cycling Path

This is a play through of Pokemon Blue by using RetroArch to emulate the game. I am randomising the Pokemon in areas with similar strength so it isn't completely randomised, while choosing three starters of similar types

At the end of Pokemon tower on the top floor we see some Rocket grunts blocking the way to Mr Fuji, the man said to have a musical instrument that could be helpful.

Venonat was being used more often so it could get better experience towards evolving and being a more common sight, being the Pokemon first chosen and a more special bond!

Zubat was a tough fight since the leech life was super effective against Venonat, but mega drain was not so it had to be double edge for the damage.. luckily with a second one used to be critically hitting the Zubat and taking it down and seeing level twenty three being gained.

It is good that Goliath's Muk was so strong due to being an evolved form with some boosted stats and good health and defences. It took out the male Nidoran with one hit before Rhydon was brought out as the Rocket grunt's final Pokemon.

Perfect time to heal Venonat and bring it out, to take a bit of damage then start using mega drain to heal up further, while taking more damage until one final mega drain would see Venonat solo taking down this mighty Rhydon!

It was a couple of easy fights for the other two rockets with Muk getting to be out and about in fighting a Nidorino, showing off its newly learned sludge move and overall strength as it always is able to do.

Mr Fuji met Goliath back at his house and passed on a Poke Flute, which was going to be required very soon if he wanted to get over to Fuchsia city by way of two different paths. The one chosen was not the recommended south of Lavender to gain even more experience and have an easier time, but west of Celadon city.

This was a cycling path way down and sounded a lot more fun, just with some potentially tough fights!

Before facing the sleeping Pokemon it was heading out the back of the guardhouse so he could reach this little house.. where the move fly can now be taught and Farfetch'd would be able to help him travel around quickly.

It was time to head back out and use the Poke Flute on the sleeping Pokemon.. but after playing, it woke up in an angry rage and it was a strong Rapidash that had been sleeping.

Venonat would be no match in this fight with barely getting away with two hit points and disabling ember before being finished off.

When Wartortle was brought out for that water damage in order to really weaken the Rapidash down low, it became a close fight with some luck of it using moves like tail whip to lower defence, before getting caught and being added to Goliath's collection.

A quick fly back to the Poke centre for a heal of the party, giving a fresh readiness to tackle the bicycle path now.

Now it was time to face the first trainer who started off showing a stronger leveled Horsea. Mega drain was able to keep Venonats health up to a good amount so it could still fight against the Staryu, but had to be change out, so Wartortle could bite its way into beating Staryu!

This was effective and the water moves only did tiny amounts of damage, to Wartortle so the victory could be achieved and a thought was made, on how much tougher these trainers will be on the bicycle path.

Emulator used: RetroArch with a Gameboy Colour core
ROMS: Pokemon Blue after being put through the randomiser
Saving: (Used for quick loading and for getting back to before I had all Pokemon faint, if I lose and so it is quicker.)

Stay tuned to see how I go with leveling, what team I am using and my journey as I progress through Pokemon Blue.

🌿✨ What's it like to start with Venonat and knock down Rhydon? 😱 This randomised adventure is getting more and more spiralling with each episode! 🌀 The fiery Rapidash capture scene and the ‘Poke Flute’ detail... Even the original game makes me want to try the original game again! 🎮🔁 I clung to Wartortle's luck in the challenging Cycling Path challenges. 💧🍀 Which form do you think Venonat will take in its evolution? PS: Randomizer is another pleasure, I wish all games had such ‘surprises’! 🎲🔥

Venonat is honestly, a hard starter Pokemon.. but mega drain and double edge have made it formidable now!
Rhydon and some strong Pokemon for trainers are great to see, I lobe randomising it as much as playing it, in its original form (which I just started Pokemon Red on the original Gameboy, again).

I haven't randomised evolutions so it will be Venomoth, but for a future summarised version or going through Gen 2, maybe I randomise evolutions too 😁😁

You should play it again, if you want to. 🙂🙂
