Rocket boss Giovanni in Silph Co wants to stop me

This is a play through of Pokemon Blue by using RetroArch to emulate the game. I am randomising the Pokemon in areas with similar strength so it isn't completely randomised, while choosing three starters of similar types

There was going to be a lot of wandering about to find the way to the boss here and a lot of rocket grunts in the way like this first one.

Brings out a cool Machamp to a battle with a psychic Pokemon having that one shot psybeam, due to Machamp being weak to psychic moves.

A couple of the next battles were weaker Pokemon with the main highlight being level fifty one the Venomoth had gained with ease, Blastoise got to wipe out a Charmander with surf, before proceeding to hydro pump the Raichu out of the picture. Goliath was getting there and finding his way around, closing in on the better battles to be in!

Eventually with the wandering around and battling rocket grunts, some luck was to come and after facing a level thirty three Arbok, the card key required for those locked doors, was found and now it was easier to move about.

A few more doors were opened up to allow item looting before additional battles were underway. Levels of rocket grunt Pokemon were still low but they had some nice choices like a Kadabra, a Charmeleon and then a Hypno who were all taken out by Blastoise and this got it to level fifty three.

Within the reach of Giovanni was none other than Goliath's old rival, Hive. He had already looked around and spoke to Giovanni before healing up his Pokemon, which is when the pair ran into one another and the battle began!

Finally the levels of Pokemon in battles had jumped right up when Hive brought out his Muk, it did not get a chance though to use any abilities and the Farfetch'd followed suit.

Moltres and Alakazam on the other hand.. were falling victim to Dragonite's hyper beam one shot hits but the move is one of the most powerful moves you could get, so it was fitting to give it a good working now it is available for use.

The final Pokemon left was Hive's Arcanine, being tested by the Muk of Goliath.. Muk did end up getting burned early on but soon after that, managed to poison Arcanine with the first sludge attack.

All that was left were a couple of thunderbolts so that way, Arcanine would be taken out and then Muk can keep up the efforts, with only losing a small amount of health!

Now is the time to get the Saffron city gym opened up by beating Giovanni. This will remove the rocket grunt from the door and that would be badge seven of eight to be earned, once beaten!

A nice leveled Electabuzz was brought out as something different to what has been seen more often, with psychic getting two thirds of the health gone, before thundershock took out a little of Venomoth's health before the psybeam was able to, knock out the Electabuzz and end it.

Up next was a Nidorino, one psychic was enough for it to beaten.. Kingler came out last and the mega drain on Venomoth was more than enough after two uses, it took the Kingler down and this leads to winning a lot of money and being done with Giovanni.. at least for now!

As a thank you for saving the Silph Co building from Team Rocket, the president gave Goliath the mighty master ball which will catch any Pokemon without fail. This was something he would be trying to duplicate in order to get a lot more of them to use and for the hardest Pokemon!

Emulator used: RetroArch with a Gameboy Colour core
ROMS: Pokemon Blue after being put through the randomiser
Saving: (Used for quick loading and for getting back to before I had all Pokemon faint, if I lose and so it is quicker.)
