Pokemon Blue Venonat Starter - Part Thirty Eight
Tackling Saffron city fighting Dojo and Silph HQ
This is a play through of Pokemon Blue by using RetroArch to emulate the game. I am randomising the Pokemon in areas with similar strength so it isn't completely randomised, while choosing three starters of similar types
Now a failed attempt to duplicate yet another item has failed, it was time to fly back to Saffron city and work on beating the fighting dojo, then the Silph Rocket headquarters and the the gym leader to get that sixth badge.
A quick healing was done and then up to the gyms with the left being the fighting dojo, and the right one is the gym leader Sabrina but by the looks of it, you need to beat Team Rocket in the Silph headquarters in the city first. At least the fighting dojo can be challenged but what will they have with randomisation?
First things first is getting Dragonair to level fifty five since there was still a chunk of rare candies left and this enabled learning hyper beam, a strong move to use and makes way for the next part. The evolution into Dragonite to make it even more powerful overall and this made Goliath super excited!
Now Goliath was ready to face off against the Dojo. Pokemon are so much stronger that it shouldn't take that long to get through it, so he could go through the Rocket Silph Co HQ.
Dragonite started off against the Geodude for a quick one hit ice beam so then the Ditto can be faced off against with the Moltres which just needed to use fire spin, to bring it down with ease and same as the Weepingbell that followed!
Most of these trainers were pretty easy to battle against with the used Pokemon being a little lacking.. except the cool Pinsir which even then, is no match for the higher leveled Pokemon of Goliath's party.
The leader of the Dojo was sporting a higher level Wartortle and Pidgeotto that could normally, do more damage, but thunderbolt was fine with tearing through the both of them!
Out of the two Pokemon that could be selected, it ended up being a Wigglytuff as the chosen prize for winning, a strong Pokemon that would be cool to use at some point.
It was time to start on the Silph Co HQ now that the Pokemon were fully healed and Moltres is level sixty, gaining sky attack, while Venomoth was leveled further and able to now use psychic which is stronger than psybeam!
The first rocket grunt inside was using lower level Pokemon but had some cool fighting types including a Primeape, and a Hitmonchan but because of the level of them, the fight was quick and easy to even take out all five party Pokemon and using Moltres!
Venomoth got to shine through the following battles and some easy fighting when mega drain is used on a Staryu and Psyduck, or psybeam on the Tangela which should have been psychic used so it was likely a one hit.
Growlithe from another fight was taking the psychic brunt and it was like it got blinded almost, the move was so strong and mesmerising!
To end this little encounter so working out the next way to go can be sat on, a battle to take out a a Voltorb with psychic one shot, a Venusaur was then brought out and this meant two hits of psychic was required.. but Venomoth was obliterating through a lot of these trainers right now and Goliath was happy, knowing his starter Pokemon has become so strong!
Emulator used: RetroArch with a Gameboy Colour core
ROMS: Pokemon Blue after being put through the randomiser
Saving: (Used for quick loading and for getting back to before I had all Pokemon faint, if I lose and so it is quicker.)

It's incredible how this game was in its early days. I saw how people played it many years ago, and it has always retained its charm.
Pokemon games have always remained hugely popular and have that replay value for continuous fun.
