Pokemon Blue Venonat Starter - Part Fourty Five
From Victory Road to cave before the Elite Four and Pokemon League
This is a play through of Pokemon Blue by using RetroArch to emulate the game. I am randomising the Pokemon in areas with similar strength so it isn't completely randomised, while choosing three starters of similar types
As Goliath made his way into Victory Road he was stopped at points, for his badges to be checked to ensure he had all eight and was able to progress further.
He kept going and made a stop at some grass to catch wild Pokemon in this spot.. a level fourty three Charmander to be stronger than the previously caught one was first up.
A couple more Pokemon would be caught here with the duplicated master balls and one of these, would be a Raichu which is a very cool addition to the collection and at a decent level too. Then there would be a Slowpoke so the collection could keep growing with new and not yet caught Pokemon to enjoy time with after becoming a Pokemon Master and the champion!
Goliath made it to the end of Victory Road where he shows off the earthbadge then proceeds into the cave before you face the Elite Four. This would include using strength right away, to move boulders around the cave.
Among the boulder pushing Blastoise was doing he was coming up against the wild Pokemon this cave had, including a Seel and a higher level Farfetch'd than the one already in storage.
After moving another boulder where it should be it was time to face a cool trainer which had one pick Goliath thought would be cool to have himself.. no it wasn't the Kadabra she brought out although it would be a good Pokemon to use, it was the following Tentacruel used for this trainer battle.
It got no damage off on Muk so it was super easy but, this was the fact she made it use barrier two times and this allowed plenty of time to weaken it down!
Some items were found on the ground with one being a high level potion while the other could not be picked up right now.. too many items were being carried!
Venomoth was taught Solarbeam so it had something really strong to use and it made space for the other items, and this item was just the sky attack technical machine. So it was nothing special and no Pokemon had been taught it as the Moltres already knew the move.
Next up was a male cool trainer this time around and the first two Pokemon were a Ponyta taken out by hydro pump, then a Koffing taken out by surf and finally the Omanyte taken out with a variety of attacks while it manage to get an attack off as well. This left the Nidoking which is a great Pokemon at just too low a level, to have any chance when hydro pump can wash it away with ease.
There was going to be some tougher fights to come and Goliath knew he would be ready for these.. but for now it was an easier fight with the only possible challenge coming from a Hitmonchan, that didn't like the surf or the water in general because it wasn't very good fighting conditions.
At least after the Grimer and Tentacool were taken out of the picture, then this was a simple couple of easier fights and it was time to continue pushing boulders around!
A short rest would first be taken and the situation and environment would be scanned to see what might be useful, but nothing else until Goliath has worked out what will go on next.
Emulator used: RetroArch with a Gameboy Colour core
ROMS: Pokemon Blue after being put through the randomiser
Saving: (Used for quick loading and for getting back to before I had all Pokemon faint, if I lose and so it is quicker.)
