Let's play Resident Evil: Village - Realising this game will be quite hard
What have I gotten myself into for this game?
Welcome to Resident Evil Village where you start off going through the opening scene in your house with your wife and your daughter Rose whom you are putting to bed so she can get some sleep, it is looking excellent with the quality up quite high and a peaceful start to the game. Some talking happens and then it hits the fan..
The house goes dark from the power being cut off and your wife is shot dead by Chris Redfield!
Probably a good thing because she was quite annoying.
Not only that, but he also kidnaps your character Ethan's daughter Rose, along with Ethan and are taken away to an unknown location.
Some time later and in some mysterious place, the vehicle you are in crashes and you find the phone and documents to help make a little more sense of some things.. but then are left finding your way out into the cold night. There are dead crows hung up to scare people away and add extra creepiness to an already uncertain game and what you will expect, especially when you know what Resident Evil games can be like!
Eventually you get on over to a shack that is dimly lit with an atmosphere that gives chills and nightmares, of something you won't want to be experiencing in real life as it is super creepy and you have a basement you go down into, that is dark and you use your flashlight to see where you are going.
Something crashed into this shack and torn it up before running out towards what turns out to be, some old looking village in the mountain and snow with a big castle in the background.
It was a beautiful setting to come across and looked so nice and peaceful.. well it would start off that way but end up turning into a shit show and tough outing.
It was a deserted village which was evident by the lack of people visible inside and outside or the blood and dead horse as well. But I kept searching and managed to find the knife so I would have a weapon and break the nearby crate, getting a first aid med to take with me for future use.
I almost got my head blown off inside one house though that had an old guy waiting and carrying a shotgun, who I got to talking to about what is happening hear but not a lot was said. We heard something on the roof and after he passed a handgun for me to use I loaded it ready and then aimed where he was looking but it took a bad turn.
This is where the zombie fun began as the old guy got taken into the roof and out of the house, being bitten and killed while I got dragged down underneath the house to where a lot of dead bodies from the people of this town, were kept and I was now getting into the exciting part of the game.. well one of them.
Now I was getting bitten by the zombie that had dragged me down and it took a chunk out of my hand, before it was knocked back so I could escape from this pit of death and face off against this zombie as my first introduction to fighting in this game.
First up was aiming the handgun at the zombie and I quickly moved to line it up while it speedily tried lunging due to the closer range, which I had to guard against before getting any shots off.
Once I knocked it back and got some distance, I let out some shots to its head but it is not an instant kill, I had to reload and take some additional shots with it now, being enough to take the first zombie down, showing what the fighting could be like and what to expect from them!
Now was a good time to settle in the house for a short while before checking out the nearby house to it, after resting my hand and composing myself from this first fight of the game.

This Resident Evil installment looks really good!
It is a great game and worth it. I loved it when seeing a streamer play it years ago
I think I still love the RE games (I played a lot of them when younger and it's probably the only thing/series that survived my falling out with zombie media), it's been a good long while since I played anything other than Minecraft, don't think I would have the reflexes for it now XD I'm going to have to look this one up, it looks good.
Which RE did you start with? 1 and 2 for me when they came out on the retro consoles.
If checking it out, you don't need the best reflexes, just love the game for what it is which is a great game. Hard but fun and visually appealing etc
1 and 2 as well XD Youngest got into one of the more recent ones (don't remember which one) and I was commenting on the differences in graphics, though there were also some spots where he walked the character into an area and we'd be like hmmm this isn't a boss arena at all XD
I'm still catching up on the resident evil series, I played the first one when I was a kid on the PS1, the next one was Resident Evil 7 in VR which I still need to finsih as it was too scary. Afterwards I also played the RE2 Remake which was awesome. Next up is either finising RE7 or starting Re4 remake which I only heard good things of. Village and the new one that comes out also are on my list to play some day.
Classic game series and I'm glad that they keep making them!
RE7 in VR would be awesome, need that on my list!
I have the RE2 remake as well, need to get back to that as it is so good and similar to the original too, was loving playing it.
RE4 remake would be awesome too, loved that game! Code Veronica would be another solid remake
