Let's play Hell Pie - Exploring the first area above ground for ingredients
Finding an ingredient was likely
In the last post Let's play Hell Pie - Making the devil's birthday pie won't be easy I started to get used to the game while progressing to the first area, above the ground where I need to start collecting ingredients for the devil's birthday pie.
Nearby was a wind powered tower which had a can of worms on it, something to be collected throughout the areas you will go to and giving a good look of the area from up higher.
After finding another can of worms and moving to speak to a local of the area who was next to some demon statue, looking similar to Nate does.. he mentions about sacrificial offerings.
These are good for unlocking new horns for additional abilities or moves to be used and this offering would be the sprint horns so you could run faster!
With that choice now to make a sacrifice, a creature with a horn was used as the offering.. well its horn had to be ripped off actually so it could be placed into the altar bowl, providing the sprint horn upgrade and yes, Nate loved the feeling of ripping the horn out of this creature's head while the local watched.
There was a trial to be passed using the new sprint horns in which you will get passed the open gaps and falling platform blocks, until you reach the portal at the end which would take you back out to the surface world to continue on with the quest.
Locals were also offering quests, sometimes simple things like finding some buried dudes around the area which you can hit to remove the sand from them. What a simple thing, right? Right!
Make sure you are careful with what you eat or touch or else.. Nate ended up having a trip which felt like the fish were monsters about to get him and he was majorly hallucinating!
At least he wasn't hallucinating when he went and fought some literal, pieces of shit in order to get a can of what he thought was worms but is more like a type of pudding, potentially, but he ensured that shit was sorted out!
There was some more fighting and collecting items while looking to see what else the area would hold. It would be a little while before finding the way up to a cage high up, one that held the first ingredient to be collected and this was a good start towards making the devil's pie.
But there was still a lot more to go yet and keeping calm and getting through each new section and the mystery due to never being there before, helps to ensure less dying will happen.
It was time to enter the sewers in hopes of finding another ingredient and yes, it was going to be a shitty time with battling the shit inside this dreadful and stinky place!
Looks like it is going to be full of possible death of Nate. Well time to dive in head first and see just what unfolds inside and hope to get through it without needing 10 showers, just to smell okay again.
There are traps as obstacles to try deter and maim anyone travelling through the sewers including the chance of falling into the shit river to their death..
There are also these weird pink things being held captive by the pieces of crap that run these sewers, ones that have to be saved or they will meet their demise. Nate was in the area anyway, so may as well get it done since it isn't a hassle.
You have to get through multiple sections and fights while saving these munchlords, plus collecting more cans of fudge and getting to the end of the sewers. It isn't that difficult to fights these things so it doesn't take long!
The end of this place is actually quite hard if you are not careful against the boss here. You will want to avoid the spinning attack and keep getting out of the way before getting a bomb to throw and take out some of the armour, after some success you will be finishing the boss off which will ensure, you collect the next ingredient and can go wash off the stick of being in the sewers.
Luckily enough though, only 1 time did this boss kill Nate so it wasn't too hard, but making a mistake or two can see you being defeated if you are not careful.
