Bitcoin Still Wins as Most (Not All) Altcoins Fade Into Oblivion. Why Slower Growth Is Normal and Most Crypto Projects Will Not Survive

Bitcoin is still the winner, and at this point it really is not debatable. Every cycle clears out the noise, and every cycle ends with Bitcoin standing taller while most other coins fade into irrelevance. This cycle is doing the same thing, just on a much larger scale.

Roughly ninety seven percent of altcoins will continue collapsing over time. That sounds harsh, but it is how this market has always worked. Most projects never gain real traction, never find sustainable demand, and eventually bleed against Bitcoin until they disappear or become zombie chains no one uses.

Bitcoin, on the other hand, keeps doing what it has always done. It absorbs value. Even when price action looks boring compared to earlier years, it is still winning quietly. Dominance rises not because Bitcoin explodes, but because everything else slowly fails.

A lot of people complain that Bitcoin does not move like it used to. That is missing the point. Bitcoin is no longer a million or billion dollar asset. It is measured in the trillions now. Slower percentage growth is normal behavior, not weakness. Expecting ten or twenty times moves forever ignores basic market reality.

What matters is that Bitcoin continues to be the base layer of the entire crypto market. Liquidity flows in and out of it. Fear pushes people back into it. Every bear phase reminds people why it became king in the first place. Nothing else has replaced that role.

Altcoins still have moments, but most of them are temporary. They pump, narratives form, and then gravity takes over. Over long periods of time, they trend down against Bitcoin. That is not opinion, it is history repeated over multiple cycles.

Hive sits in a different place for me personally. I honestly do not know which way it goes long term. It has been moving with the losers, and I am not pretending otherwise. The price action has not been inspiring.

That said, I have become a fan of Hive. I enjoy using it, I like the community, and I am comfortable holding my Hive Power. If it works out, great. If it does not, I will go down with the ship. That is a personal choice, not a market call.

The key difference is that I do not confuse enjoyment with investment reality. Bitcoin is still the backbone. Most altcoins will continue to fade. A few may survive, but only Bitcoin has proven it can endure every cycle, every narrative shift, and every wave of speculation.

In the end, this market always simplifies. Complexity gets washed away. Bitcoin remains, and everything else has to justify its existence. So far, very few actually do.

True! But Monero was worth holding past 12 months as I’ve been saying that’s for sure!
