What happens when people start rigging outcomes?

When people bet considerable amounts of money on outcomes that are outside of their control, that's fine. People are rewarded for being right, and the market acts as an oracle.

But what about when people can actually affect the outcomes they're betting on? 😲

Example: right now there's a market on who Trump will pardon. He alone controls that outcome, and could place a massive bet on a particular one, then simply make it happen and cash in.

I don't think Trump would do it since he has enough money and currently is motivated by other things, but what about the next person in this position?

Not sure what will happen. I'll have to think about this.

Good question right there. , in football betting , we call it match fixing.

Can a kyc requirement prevent it ??
