The Unplugged Day: A Post-Storm Update

Hey everyone,

Just a quick follow-up to yesterday's post from the dark! The power finally came back on last night, much to our relief after a long day without it due to those tornado warnings.

By the time the electricity was flowing again, I was pretty much "done for" in terms of any productive screen time. But you know what? The day wasn't wasted at all.

Instead of the usual online activities, we embraced the forced "unplugged" time. We had a delightful, simple picnic of summer sausage, cheese, and grapes – classic power-outage fare! And the main event? We dove into some tabletop gaming, spending a good chunk of the day making characters and then playing a bit of Tiny Dungeon 2e. We wanted to jump into a simple rules light game, so I made Edgar the Druid and my wife became the Dungeon Mistress.

If only it were that tray of snacks!

It was actually incredibly refreshing to disconnect for a while, even if it was under less-than-ideal circumstances. Sometimes an unexpected break from the digital world is just what you need.

Hope everyone else who might have been affected by the storms is doing okay!

As always,
Michael Garcia a.k.a. TheCrazyGM

The food, company, and the activities, all sound lovely to me! I'm glad that you had a fun time, my friend, and also that no tornadoes came to crash the party! 😁 🙏 💚 ✨ 🤙
