The Road to Falcon’s Hollow: Setting the Stage for Adventure
Hey Everyone,
Every adventure has its beginning. While I often champion in media res to kick things off with a bang, I have opted for a classic, "in the beginning" approach for this solo experiment. We are starting in a traditional tavern, in a quiet town, just before the chaos erupts.
Selecting the Flavor: Golarion’s Heartland
Choosing a setting in Pathfinder’s Golarion is a matter of finding the right flavor. I wanted to lean into traditional Tolkien-esque fantasy for this run, avoiding the complexities of desert survival or frozen wastelands or strange customs.
I settled on Andoran, the "Birthplace of Freedom."

The Perfect Sandbox: Darkmoon Vale
A good adventure needs a focus area. I selected Darkmoon Vale. Its proximity to the forest provides the perfect backdrop for exploration and wilderness encounters: classic staples of a great campaign.

Ground Zero: Falcon’s Hollow
I needed a specific starting point, and Falcon’s Hollow fits perfectly. It is a gritty, struggling village close enough to the treeline to lure players into the shadows of the vale. With nearby ruins and plenty of local tension, the adventure is practically writing itself.

The location is set. The ideas are spinning. It is time to get creative.
As always,

I like the setting that you've set, and I'm looking forward to see where you lead it, oh Game Master! 😁🙏💚✨🤙
