The Thrill of Casino Games with Stake House Den!
Hive is a great platform for game builders and is highly underutilized in my opinion. I'm always excited to hear about new games being created here on the chain. Several weeks ago I decided to jump into a new game called Stake House Den which is part of Arcade Colony games. Today I'll share an update and open up some new cards!
I first started the game fairly modestly with just a couple of Lady Luck packs. I quickly became addicted and ended up purchasing more than 20. The game is a lot of fun and gives you the thrill of gambling without the risk of losing money. Right now their are tree games you can play: Blackjack, Roulette, and Slot Machines. I understand poker is coming in the very near future. Right now I mainly play blackjack as it's a game I've always enjoyed. Plus the odds of winning are much higher!
Today I decided to try my luck opening a couple new Lady Luck packs and see if I could get any lucky pulls. I bought two packs with some Script tokens, as well as some legendary and gold flux to increase the potential for legendary or gold card pulls. Each pack cost 4 Script and the flux is much less expensive.

Next I opened my packs...
I put two packs to open and ten of each type of flux to increase my chances of good luck!
Below you can see using the legendary flux worked out well for me as I pulled two legendary joker cards, one black and one red. The red one has an asking price of $38.90 on the marketplace and the black one $45. The gold flux didn't pan out this time around... You can't win them all!
With the lucky pull of the legendary red joker I now have a total of six red joker cards. Three have already been combined into one, and since they are legendary it only takes six to combine into a level 3 legendary card. Below I'll include a link to the lists of info on merging cards. It very useful as you get started in the game! Here's the link

It's fun and easy to merge cards. Just click the ones to merge and hit the merge button!
And the results are fantastic! Just look at how much Hot Sauce this card can produce when staked in the fridge! You can see it's 120 circled in yellow.
From here I went to my fridge and staked this nice legendary level 3 red joker card to start producing much more Hot Sauce!
I jumped from a daily production of about two hundred Hot Sauce to more than three hundred. Those packs I bought really paid off as now I am producing more in game currency with which I can bet and win Colony. Colony is the in game currency for both Moon Karts and Stake House Den.
Blackjack
Now I'll share a few hands I played today. You will notice I'm avoiding roulette and the slot machines as I've never had much luck with those in real life. If you've never played blackjack before there are many strategy resources available online for free.
I haven't played in several days and let the Hot Sauce pile up to around 1,300. I decided to go with bets of 200 Hot Sauce each hand and it sure paid off. First hand I got blackjack!
Next hand I pulled an 18, against the dealers up card of 7, the best strategy is to stay.
Strategy paid off with another win
Here's another hand where I came up with 17 and dealers up card was six so I stayed!
And the dealer busts! Always a great feeling!
Another hand I won the hard way hitting all the way to 21 with four cards. I got lucky!
I had a great run of five hands in a row that were all winners. Using 200 Hot Sauce per bet dramatically increased my Colony earnings. From now on I will only play when I have a huge amount piled up.
And I climbed the leaderboard by three spots. I have a long way to go to catch the top performers.
After this I bought 10,000 more Colony and staked it to increase my staking factor per win. I think I'll do this about once a week to increase my winnings per game won. The token isn't expensive so it makes sense to slowly stack up more of it.
Today had a lot of fun playing and opening up some new cards. I really got lucky on my pulls today and increased my Hot Sauce production by 50 percent. This game is new and not many people yet are playing, but I think over time it will catch on and become fairly popular. Splinterlands popular? Probably not, but anyone who likes casino games will have a blast with this game!

Thanks, producing enough Hot Sauce is the hardest part. For now I think I'm done investing anything except maybe some Colony!
Do you ever get more colony for staking it?
I don't think so, as far as I can tell. I earn about one a day but that is for having staked SPS, not much anymore. It seems to only help you earn as a multiplier when you win.
Okay fair enough, I shall have a look next week, I might get some more packs!

It seems like a good strategy to slowly add 10,000 colony at a time. How much colony do you currently have staked?
Only 40K so far. Colony is still inexpensive so it's not all that painful to pick up in chunks of 10K at a time!

That's a good start though. I have 87K just from the airdrops for staking SPS and GLX. Haven't tried playing Stake House Den yet, but your post is making me consider it. I'm interested to see what it looks like if they launch poker.
I think the more games they offer the better the game will do. I hope it's Texas hold em on the poker! I don't have all that much SPS or GLX anymore, I only play brawls on Splinterlands now. I didn't buy any of the newer cards and sold a lot of the older ones. Stake House den is fun, the Hot Sauce maximization is the key to doing well, and some of that is luck on which cards you pull. I have found the packs are more generous with legendary jokers when you use legendary flux to open them. Much more generous than Splinerlands packs!
That has got me intrigued, I'll have to check that out later if I can make time. I've been slowly selling off some of my SPS for hive power but I still play. Like you, I didn't buy the new set either.

It's fun! But like I mentioned, this game I'm just doing for fun. In Splinterlands I wanted to make money, this one I really don't care. I figure if it's something I enjoy and don't stress about the money all the better. If I do happen to end up profiting I won't complain!

The game is only a few weeks old so it's not hard to be in the top ten! The top three people have a lot invested in the game, I don't plan on going in that heavy. This one I'm playing for fun and not worrying about profits!
