TGLD Presale Has Ended, HBD and USDC Rewards Are Now Paying Out Daily
Just about a week ago I announced the presale of TGLD. That sale is over now and as promised all remaining unsold tokens were burned, 6,961.698 tokens were sent to null. There are no plans in the immediate future to release any more tokens for sale, so now the only way to obtain them is the secondary market. And for those of us who bought during the presale and staked your tokens the rewards have started to roll in. HBD and USDC payments are now paying out daily!
So far I have received HBD for my staked tokens over the last two days. After calculating the APR I found that I am indeed receiving just about 18% APR on the the tokens I purchased and staked. That rate is locked in permanently which is nice to have. If you purchase TGLD on the secondary market now and stake them you will still receive a nice return on about 5%, but could be higher depending on the price of the SPDR GLD fund as the price of the token is pegged to it's price at a 1:100 ratio.
Gold has had a phenomenal year and signs are pointing to yet higher highs in the near future. The anticipated Fed rate cuts caused a surge in gold prices in the last day, and others are calling for gold to be up 20% or more in 2026. The world's economy and fiat continue to be fairly weak, not to mention mounting debt to levels unheard of in modern history. Gold is a safe haven where the investors will turn to protect their wealth, and governments around the world are buying more for their strategic reserves. Right now gold is definitely one of the safest investments available.

TGLD is pegged at 1:100 to the SPDR GLD fund price as previously mentioned. Now have a look at the SPDR GLD price year to date:

Just like gold itself the fund is showing incredible growth, that is great news for all of those holding TGLD. Since the price is pegged to this fund's price, and not Hive, we will likely see further increases in the price per token. I only wish I had had much more liquid Hive to buy a bunch more during the presale, but I was liquid Hive poor at the time!
I currently am still picking up small quantities of the token on Hive Engine when a good deal is to be found and staking them. There are several bots already in the token flipping game which can make picking things up at a good price a little frustrating. Asking prices are about 35 Hive right now, which is higher than the 33 when the presale ended. But every now and again I have gotten lucky. It's not too late to lock in some earnings through TGLD. Although the bonus APR of the presale is gone, there is still money to be made as gold increases in value.
Please keep in mind this is just my humble opinion, and I am most definitely not a financial advisor. I'm just a guy who has always loved investing in precious metals. What's next in precious metal pegged funds on Hive? I don't know. It might be interesting to see a token pegged to silver, and maybe even a more exciting one pegged to rhodium. It's prices can be very volatile as it's one of the rarest precious metals, but at times it will shoot up to $30K per Troy ounce. It's called the rhodium rocket for a reason!

I've been trying to pick some up at around 32-33 Hive. 35 probably isn't unreasonable if gold goes up more because the tokens will go up in value and the APR paid out improved too

The word I heard was that the CME metal exchange servers were overheating and they shut it down for quite a few hours, and prices spiked!

They come from @tgld.yld ,in the form of HBD. I think those who are in the LP on Base get paid in USDC but I'm not on Base at all.

Yes and no... There have been projects like TGLD where you buy token shares that are set at prices according to the price of gold or gold funds. The advantage of TGLD is it pays daily dividends in the form of HBD when staked. But as a precious metal fan I like to own the gold or silver personally. You don't get dividends but you can hold it and it belongs to you. In Venezuela owning silver or gold is smart because of the inflation and poor economy. But it's probably hard to find good prices to purchase I would imagine, I haven't been to Caracas since 1995. It was beautiful back then!
There are true tokenized gold tokens out there like PAXG and XAUT which can be purchased on exchanges. Here's a page from coingecko about it, but it's in English. I'm not sure if they have a Spanish version or not. But the information is good!
