It's almost hard to believe it's Sunday again, but the calendar doesn't lie! It's kind of an odd day here, it's a little cool outside and rainy. Normally I like to enjoy coffee in the backyard in the mornings, but not today. I have been spoiled living in southern California with so much nice weather most of the year. But every now and again it gets cold and rainy here too!

Just like every other Sunday, today I'll be doing my giveaway post. This next week will be 46 weeks since I started this little project, coming up on a year pretty quickly. And this last week I had the biggest number of participants that I've ever had, a grand total of 44 entries! Because I had so many entries I decided to add on a few bonus prizes today to celebrate, you'll see those after the first four spin results.

First let's see what fruits won out as the most popular as that was the entry question last week! I know a couple of you picked durian, I'm sad to say it didn't win.

Mango

foodprint.org

I do believe this was by far the winner! After living in the Caribbean for many years I also love mango and even had a tree in my backyard. I always picked them just shy of ripe so they were a little sour, because I love sour! It is a great tasting fruit with several varieties that all are just a little different tasting. This was picked by: @helicreamarket , @jpatrick28 , @henruc , @ronnie10 , @vcclothing , @lanzjoseg , @monsterbuster , @cositav , @dewabrata and @logen9f . Thank you all for participating!

Durian

supertravelr.com

I really was surprised at how well durian did in this contest. It is a strong smelling and flavored fruit that grows in the tropics. You either love it or absolutely detest it, and I happen to fall in the latter category. I've tried it a few times but just can't take the flavor. With four people picking this one it came in tied for second place, thanks @blitzzzz , @vaynard86 , @ekavieka and @dewabrata for this great choice (even if I hate it!)

Pineapple (piña)

icirnigeria.org

Having lived in the tropics for years I have to admit this is among my favorites as well. There really is nothing like getting one straight from the farm, but in most places you have to depend on stores. Even California is too cold to grow them. Just a curious factoid, there was a show on several years ago called "Psych" about a guy who pretends to be a psychic detective. You can see it these days on Peacock, but in every episode they had a pineapple. It's a funny show if you missed it.

Thanks for the great choice @doombot75 , @hjrrodriguez , @oadissin and @edreisito .

Strawberry

wallsdesk.com

And the rounding out the tie for second place we had strawberries! I've always loved these, just so tasty and versatile. One of the truly wonderful things about living in southern California is you can find fresh year round. Thanks for your favorite @ladymisa , @akiraymd , @whywhy and @florakese .

Oranges

bhg.com

So many different types of oranges and they all taste great! I think Cara Cara are my current favorites, probably because they're in season right now. Thanks for the excellent choice of citrus fruit @ravenmus1c , @deeanndmathews and @tortangkahoy !

Banana

infoescola.com

There are so many different types of bananas and all of them are really good. There is a durian in the picture above, definitely not a banana type! I liked this picture because it show several varieties of the fruit. I've always love the red one the best, but they're all really good. This was picked by: @kungfukid , @borniet and @ekavieka , thanks guys!

Apples

rd.com

Another fruit with just so many varieties from extra sour to extremely sweet. I've always preferred the sour ones myself, whereas @silvertop chose the honey crisp. He lives in Washington state that is just about the apple capital of the world. So he knows his apples well! These were also picked by @olaf.gui and @hatdogsensei . Thanks guys!

Watermelon (Sandía)

housedigest.com

Another great tasting option that makes summer fun, good old watermelon. I never used to like it as a kid, but living in South America I became a fan. In summer could get them straight of the farm and they were so good. Of course it's winter in the north hemisphere and right now it's summer in South America! Thanks for choosing an awesome melon @angeluxx , @geneeverett and @dkid14 !

I wish I had time to add the rest, but I have to run errands this afternoon. Other favorites were peaches by @coinjoe and @coolmidwestguy . Grapes were the pick by both @moonthumb and @lumpiadobo . Raspberry was chosen by @ganjafarmer and @iamthemastermind . Kiwi was the preference of @sylmarill and @bitandi . Limes from my friend @gwajnberg , pomegranate by @rainbowdashh4l , and cherries by @melinda010100 . Thank you everyone for participating!

This week's entry question:

I really need to stop writing these questions right before I head to lunch...

Now for today's entry question: What is your favorite type of cheese?

I may have asked this same one some time back, but it's been awhile and we have some new participants. So why not? If you are vegan or lactose intolerant, do you have a cheese alternative that you like?

The Giveaway

I will be giving out two prizes of five (5) HSBI. Third prize will be 2 DUO tokens, the token I recently launched with @bulliontools and @bitcoinman . It offers those who stake sufficient tokens daily curation on quality posts, dividends, and a tipping bot. It also helps to onboard and retain new Hive members. At the end of the post there is a link to the white paper and where to purchase the tokens. Fourth prize is 100 BBH tokens. To participate you need a reputation level of at least 25 and bots cannot win. And please one entry per person to make it fair to everyone.

If you would like to be placed on a weekly reminder list just let me know and I'll make sure you get tagged each week.

How to Enter

Every week this will change. I'm looking for engagement rather than just saying "I am in". There is no need to upvote or re-blog, although if you choose to do so I would appreciate it. This week's question should be fun:

What is your favorite type of cheese?
I may have asked this same one some time back, but it's been awhile and we have some new participants. So why not? If you are vegan or lactose intolerant, do you have a cheese alternative that you like?

HSBI

If you are unfamiliar with the prize you can learn more here:

Choosing the Winners

All valid entries will be placed on the Wheel of Names and I will spin it four times. The first prize will be 5 HSBI units. The second prize will be another 5 HSBI units. Third prize will be two DUO tokens. Fourth prize will be 100 BBH tokens. And since I am spinning the same wheel four times in a row it is theoretically possible for the same person to win all four prizes! Although I have yet to see it happen, maybe this week?

Deadline

One week from today which will be Sunday February 2, 2025 at 8 A.M. California Pacific Time.

Now to choose last week's lucky winners!

And the first spin!

Congratulations @dewabrata ! You won 5 HSBI units!

And the second spin!

Congratulations @oadissin ! You won 5 HSBI units! I believe this is the first time he has won in my giveaway, congrats!

The third spin

Congratulations @florakese ! You won 2 DUO tokens!

The fourth spin

Congratulations @kungfukid ! You won 100 BBH tokens!

And just for fun six bonus spins for one HSBI each, it's always fun to throw in some bonuses!

Congratulations @ravenmus1c , one HSBI for you!

Congratulations @gwajnberg , one HSBI for you!

Congratulations @ekavieka , one HSBI for you!

Congratulations @angeluxx , one HSBI for you!

Congratulations @ganjafarmer , one HSBI for you!

Congratulations @dkid14 , one HSBI for you as well!

That will wrap up my giveaway for this week. Thanks everyone for participating and I'm glad you all enjoy it. I buy it from time to time as it's one of the few decent Dutch cheese's you can easily get in the south of Spain.... But if you ever get the chance to buy cheese in the Netherlands don't buy old Amsterdam there's so much good cheese to try there

Wow congrats to all those winners!

What is your favorite type of cheese?

My favorite is split between two very different cheeses. I like very sharp cheddar, the kind that really grabs your attention... and soft mozzarella the mild and gooey kind you find on a pizza. I"m also a fan of goat and sheep's cheeses, the crumbly type. I'm a fan of quality cheeses.

I love really sharp cheddar as well, goat and sheep's cheeses are both really good too. Premium mozzarella on pizza is always really good. I too love quality in my cheese. I won't even touch processed cheese. I recall being horrified that in Philadelphia the top cheesesteak places use cheese whiz on the sandwiches!

Greetings @thebighigg, congratulations to all participants and especially to the winners.

My favorite cheese is one that is known as Queso Blanco Duro, it is a low salt cheese, but not too much, it is very tasty, most likely you have tried it when you were in Venezuela.

The photo is of a kilo of very fresh cheese I bought today.

A good old Cheddar cheese is nice but the fav is this Old Ditch Cheese called Gustavo, I have my mom sent me a piece every 3 months

Gustavo cheese is a delicious old cheese and has a delicious spicy taste with salt crystals and a little sweetness in the aftertaste. The structure is, in contrast to most old cheeses, still easy to cut and deliciously creamy.

Please add me to the reminder list!

Favorite cheese? Well, that's a tough one, as there are so many delicious ones. But over the years, if there's one I have always enjoyed, it would be a good Norwegian Jarlsberg. Getting a big piece was one of the things we never missed out on, every time we went to Costco.

Around here they still do. Unlike the really small pieces you find at regular supermarkets for about $10-12, Costco gets their own larger packaging (usually about 24oz) for about $16-18. But you might want to try a smaller piece first to see if you like it... it's like a slightly smoother/softer and little more pungent Swiss.

Although it's usually the same with the routine of everyday, but since my family is not around, most times I just lazy around after church and think about my life all day. Because of the the danger of diabetes, cucumber and watermelon is just about the only stuff I take.

Camembert is also pretty good! But less of a crowd pleaser ;-) And blue cheese.... hmmm! I love blue cheese! :-D
Well... MMB stands for Maximum Mutual Benefit, the details behind it are still to be worked out, but the idea is for it to become a growth token (like your well known DUO, or BBHO,...), and with the focus on Maximum Mutual Benefit. Currently, when you use the !MMB tip bot the tipper and the tippee will receive both some MMB and some IDD. Currently those two, and with VERY small amounts, as it is still in development (and I have sooooo many other things to do as well :-D ).
The !INEEDSLEEP tipping call is actually an alias for the ZOMBIE bot call & token. The idea is to "hang" all our different bots & tokens under the MMB bot/token, so they will all add to the maximum benefit for all in the end.
But as I said: loads of work :-)

Hey! I would love to be back on the @ tagged reminder list!

For this weeks suggestion I am going to chwat a little bit…
I really don’t like cheese - in fact it is the only food I don’t like haha.
Here in the Netherlands the Dutch word for Cheese is “Kaas”. The “Kaas” I do like is “Pindakaas” / peanut butter

Fun how the dairy industry protested (and won) the name “pinda boter” which would had been the literal translation from peanut butter. Their claim was that it didn’t contain any butter so it would open the doors for cheaper alternatives for butter to take marketshare from their highest margin product

Namaste🙏 @thebighigg , Good morning, i love to have Amul brand's Mozzarella & Cheddar Diced Cheese, but nowadays i am avoiding it due to some health issues and like instead of it "PANEER" which is also a dairy product.

Both have different uses, like panner is used for fillings and for curry purpose, but cheese is used for backed dishes, like pizza, grilled sandwich(My favorite) and more... !INDEED !PIZZA
