Some Ska Music to Brighten Your Tuesday!
You know when your day is starting off with a trip to the dentist for a root canal, it's not going to be a lot of fun. Once you survive the procedure itself then comes the inevitable throbbing pain as the anesthesia wears off and those pain pills become very welcome friends... Such was my day so far, but now the hard part is over it's time for some fun to cheer me up. Of course the pills might not hurt with that either!
For some reason some fun ska music always cheers me up, and since it's Tuesday it's makes a great theme for a post! But first off I want to say thank you to @ablaze for starting and continuing to sponsor this fun weekly event where you can share three songs that you enjoy. Let's kick off with one of the legendary ska bands out of England, The Beat!
The Beat (The English Beat)
Formed in Birmingham, England in 1978 this band became one of the biggest ska/reggae bands of the 1980's. In England they are known as The Beat, in the US as The English Beat and Australia as The British Beat. Their debut album I Just Can't Stop It became a best seller not only in Europe, but he US and Australia. Their were multiple hit songs but one of my favorites has always been "Mirror In The Bathroom":
Madness
Formed in 1976 in Camden Town, London, England these guys were one of the biggest bands in ska in the late 70's and early 80's. They revived two-tone ska and had hit songs on both sides of the pond. In 1981 they released the stand alone single "It Must Be Love" that became one of their biggest hits. I still remember hearing it on the radio when I was a kid!
No Doubt
This Orange County, California band is among my favorite bands from the 90's and 2000's. As a matter of fact they are from Anaheim, the home of Disneyland. They came together as a ska band in 1986 and put out a great debut album in 1992 although it didn't sell very well. It does have some great music though. But the album Tragic Kingdom in 1995 made them world famous. What was the big change? Gwen Stefani started to write the songs for the album whereas her brother had in the past. I guess it took a woman's touch for the band to really take off.
They have always used elements of ska even in their later music and makes it a lot of fun. But here is "Spiderwebs" off of Tragic Kingdom with that nice 90's ska sound:

If you didn't know I've been getting downvoted for a long time on Hive
They have been trying to bully me with downvotes and words but it doesn't affect me I've been online for over 25 years
So I've dealt with people like this before it's nothing new
But what they are doing is bad Very badi joined steemit like everyone else thinking it offers freedom but I must say steemit offered much more freedom than Hive does
Everyone already knows I only post my own original content I have no need to steal anything from anyone
I've been labelled a lot of things on Hive 😂 by the biggest farmers scammers and downvoters
Actions speak louder than any words do especially when them words are coming from a compolsive liars

I only remember "our house" from Madness. That other one must have slipped by me or I am just not able to place it in my head.
"Our House" was the biggest one for sure here in the US, but I also recall hearing "It Must Be Love" as well. It was a long time ago and at that age I really wasn't into music, I was a kid doing kid things! lol But it's a good song.
I can't wait to hear your California picks, that's going to be fun. There are just so many obvious ones that you almost hate to pick them like "Hotel California", but how do you pass on "California Girls"? I'm sure you're going to have some fun!

U ever hear there first album? It bombed and the label was gonna drop them, 1992. They even had there follow up 2nd record held and not released in 1994 due to how bad the first album did. Long story short the second record was released 17 months after recording it and it blew up!
This was the single off the 1992 album ⬇️. Gwen looks crazy different!
Wild to think how many bands would have been huge if the label gave em a second record after a bomb!

Madness & No Doubt very cool too! But Mirror In The Bathroom is one of the best songs of all time! If you didn't know I've been getting downvoted for a long time on Hive
They have been trying to bully me with downvotes and words but it doesn't affect me I've been online for over 25 years
So I've dealt with people like this before it's nothing new
But what they are doing is bad Very badi joined steemit like everyone else thinking it offers freedom but I must say steemit offered much more freedom than Hive does
Everyone already knows I only post my own original content I have no need to steal anything from anyone
I've been labelled a lot of things on Hive 😂 by the biggest farmers scammers and downvoters
Actions speak louder than any words do especially when them words are coming from a compolsive liars

Wow, wow, wow, it's been so long since I've heard Spiderwebs ❤️ I think No Doubt was one of the first bands that made me love ska. In fact, Tragic Kingdom was one of my favorite albums, although I didn't listen to it when it first came out because I was very young, but rather around '99 when I started to love music in general. I became a fan of theirs when Simple Kind of Life was popular 😅 and I've never been without Gwen Stefani since, in all her phases. All your recommendations today are great, but I'll stick with them. Thanks for bringing back such perfect music that lifts my spirits. This is what I love about #TTT 😎
