Thanks! It is a fun place but dogs would be tough, it's designed more for people. I think once we did bring a dog on a trip when I was still married and stayed at La Quinta off the Strip which is dog friendly. It's really kind of a headache though even though you love your dog!
Valley of Fire is gorgeous isn't it? Glad you got a chance to see it! I grew up in the west and Vegas has never been all that far away making it less of a hassle to get there. It also used to be pretty inexpensive, they used to have nice rooms that were cheap to bring in the gamblers. Now it's a destination unto itself and expensive!

I was traveling with a long time friend who had an old well loved German Shepherd that needed daily seizure meds. We planned a month long trip in the SW and didn't want to leave her alone in the travel trailer while we were out exploring. She mostly slept happily on the backseat of the truck.
But cities would have been difficult.
