My Week in Review for May 31, 2025

Saturday has come at last! It's been an atypically busy week for me and it's going to be nice to have a couple of low stress days this weekend. As a bonus, the weather forecast is fantastic with sunny warm days, it should be a great. I'll kick it off with my weekly Saturday post where I focus more on investing and cryptocurrency, particularly here on Hive. But first up, a little about Bitcoin this past week.

Bitcoin has pulled back from the all time that it hit just last week. The good news is that there seems to be enough support to maintain the price above $100,000. Barring any major corrections this could be the low end of BTC prices for the foreseeable future. That will be very good news for the rest of the cryptocurrency world, including Hive.

Hive has been enjoying some nice price stability above $0.25 cents until yesterday. There was a large pullback in response to the BTC drop, down to just above $0.22. We have seen some improvement this morning to just about $0.23, so there may be hope for more price recovery. I did buy up some extra Hive on the dip to have available for Hive Power Up Day tomorrow. It's hard to believe it's almost June.

Around nine months ago I joined the Saturday Savers community. A couple of my friends had joined and found it helpful in achieving their goals. Similarly, I have found it extremely beneficial to set defined goals and review my weekly progress. I frequently find myself changing strategy to ensure I am saving and investing wisely.

I have already reached two of my goals this year and now I'm closing in on my primary goal: Hive Power.

Hive Power

This year's primary goal is to reach 10,000 staked HP.

Current HP: 8,591 (85.9%) complete
Goal HP: 10,000

I increased my HP by 141 this week, I did power up some extra Hive which I purchased with HBD on top of my post earnings. With prices down I may purchase more and push toward that 10K finish line even faster. I want to complete this in the next couple of months and then set my sights even higher!

LEO

This was one of my priority goals and I'm happy to say that I have completed it. I will continue to power up on Leo Power Up Days and build my stack ever higher. I was fortunate enough to win a one month delegation on 10K LEO on the last power up day, which is helping me earn even more LEO tokens.

Current LEO: 5,196 (103.9% complete)
Goal: 5,000

PIMP

This was my secondary goal of the year. I'm continuing to pick up more little by little, next stop will be 100K. It may take another year or so, but little by little. It's the only token backed by BTC and physical silver here on Hive.

PIMP: 54,013 (108% complete)
Goal: 50,000

DUO

Coming up on a year ago now, I started a token project with @bulliontools and @bitcoinman called DUO token. If you stake 200 DUO you receive daily Hive dividends and a curation on your quality posts once a day as well. For those who stake 500 or more you are able to tip someone else's post with some DUO, in return you receive the same amount of the tip in your account as well.

My current holdings:

DUO total: 1,750 (87.5% complete)
Goal: 2,000

I'm sure I'll exceed this goal easily, as I pick up more tokens every week!

EDSI

I picked up seven tokens this past week, I'm picking up the pace to try to reach the goal by the end of the year.

EDSI: 135 (67.5% complete)
Goal: 200

This token pays out liquid Hive dividends weekly and once you have over 100 it offers curation on quality posts. At 200 the dividends will be better as will be the curations.

HIQS

I have started unstaking all of these tokens as the project appears to be dead. Sadly, they are worth next to nothing at this point. I may just hold onto them in case the project is resurrected at some point, but this one looks like it was a complete loss of my funds invested. You can't win them all...

CCD

I continue to hold this token and slowly picking up more. This is a project by the @cryptocompany and has some nice benefits. Those who hold one million staked can claim one HSBI daily, if you have 500K staked you can claim an HSBI twice a week, and at 100K staked you can claim an HSBI once a month.

CCD current: 526,000 roughly (52.6% of the goal)
Soft goal: 1,000,000

Silver and Gold

Gold and silver are both down a hair this weekend, making them both a nice potential buying opportunity. With all of the instability in the world right now I'm fairly sure gold will reach $4,000 per Troy ounce by the end of the year, and silver $40 per Troy ounce. I think we'll all be looking back wishing we had bought more while it's cheap!

Every week I try to feature something made of gold or silver on sale for a great price, and this is a nice one. A one gram gold bar that is .9999 pure gold by Sunshine Minting. The best way to buy gold now is in micro gold, or smaller amounts. Unless you have over $3,000 burning a hole in your pocket to pick up a full ounce, I sure don't!

Isn't that pretty? These are currently on sale at APMEX.com for $121.23 at the time of writing. They are usually $137.23, so a 52% savings off the premium over the spot price of gold. When you see a nice sale like this one, it's always a great idea to buy some if you have funds available!

Both silver and gold will be great bets down the road, and historically they are a great way to build wealth.

I do have some other projects I am invested in and will sporadically report on those. I haven't found any new projects that I'm really exited about at the moment. If you have found something new and exciting please let me know. I'm always looking for some new, solid investments.
