My Week in Review for February 22, 2025

I hope all of you are enjoying your weekend. It's a sunny, warm day here in southern California. So once I finish up the post I'm going to head outside and try to enjoy the day. I have a few citrus trees in the back that were here when I bought the place, the oranges just haven't done well this year for some reason. The lemon tree is an older variety and produces a more round lemon than the typical one's found in stores and I have quite a few of those ready. I went out this morning and clipped one off tree (they don't pull off easily, if you've never done it before.) This will be going in my iced tea later.

As usual on Saturday's, I'll be sticking to the schedule and will share an update on my Hive goals for the year. I joined the Saturday Savers community some six months ago, maybe more, to help me focus on what I would like to accomplish this year. It really has helped me to achieve my goals faster as I see them every week, and I recommend it to anyone who is trying to grow their account here on Hive. I have made a few adjustments in my post this week, swapping out some tokens that I'm still working on but are not true priorities and added one new one in just for fun!

Now let's jump into part two of my post today, #saturdaysavers .

Hive Power

My primary goal this year is to reach a total Hive Power of 10,000, at the time I thought it should be relatively easy. With higher Hive prices it's become a little more difficult, but it can be done! I have increased my HP by 81 this week and currently have 6,893 staked Hive Power. I'll likely need to convert more HBD to Hive this year to get myself closer to that 10K line. I'm hoping to stack even more this year, but 10 K is the first benchmark to even higher numbers...

Currently I am 68.9% of the way there, slow but steady is how you win the race!

PIMP

This year my secondary goal is to reach 50K staked PIMP and it still feels like a realistic goal. I bought some PIMP this week, additionally, I continue to earn from posting and tips as well. As of this morning I have 36,025 PIMP, I am at 72% of the final goal. I expect to be picking up some bigger chunks in the near future.

This is the only token that is backed by physical silver here on Hive, and backed by Bitcoin as well. So it will always have value!

GIFU

This one is new on my list... I finally was convinced by @trumpman to drink the Kool Aid. GIFU exists on the Binance Chain and as a SWAP.GIFU here on Hive Engine. It's a deflationary token with regular burns done, but there are a lot of tokens that were created. As more and more are burned the price should slowly start to rise as they become more scarce, I'm not sure how long it will take though. The fun thing that I like is that at a hold of one million SWAP.GIFU you get to use the tipping bot and give GIFU. And at 50K they offer curations on posts as well! I only have about 60K now but I'll probably stack up a million just for that, and maybe eventually even make some money!

This one is a little more high risk in my eyes, but it may payoff big down the road. Plus it's pretty cheap and I like tipping bots!

EDSI

My goal this year is to reach 200 EDSI, I picked up none this week but I have a buy order in and waiting for it to be filled. I have just over 110 right now, so 55% completed in the goal. If I pick up a few a week I should make it to the goal relatively easily.

This is a very safe investment in my opinion. It offers weekly Hive dividends and curations on your posts which is a nice bonus.

DUO

Time to shill my favorite token of them all, DUO! I am a bit biased as I'm part of the team that created the token. Along with @bitcoinman and @bulliontools we created DUO to fill a need we saw here on Hive. The goal is to stack up enough Hive Power to delegate a portion to help onboard and retain new quality members that are here to build accounts on Hive.

Our investors receive the most benefits from the token in the form of daily Hive dividends and daily curations on your quality content. 90% off all HP earned from curation is paid to the those who stake 200 or more tokens in the form of daily dividends and curations. The remaining 10% is locked into permanent Hive Power. All revenue from token sales is permanently powered up, and will never be powered down. We currently have 37,074 HP in the curation account, and it builds daily with curation profits and sales of tokens.

At 500 staked DUO you also can use the tipping bot allowing you to share DUO with quality posts, in return you receive the same amount staked in your account as well. It's a great perk that really adds up over time.

The amount of DUO I hold decreased by 200 this week, I currently have just over 1,200. As you all may have heard @gratefuleveryday suffered a hack on his old account and lost everything including his DUO, so as a team we gave him some of from our personal stacks to get his new account back on track. Thus the decrease in held tokens! It a stark reminder to all of us to be very careful with account information and especially our security keys. I'm not sure how the hack happened but hopefully we can all learn from it and hopefully figure out who did the thievery.

CAV

This token was created to help veterans of combat here on Hive and off in the real world as well. It doesn't matter what country you served in, just that you served. As a veteran at times things are difficult and mental scars can be as bad or worse than the physical ones. So every week I plan to pick up one to two of these to support the project. It's not a lot, but it feels good to help. Also, token holders receive daily Hive dividends as well for holding this token. I currently have 11 of them but that will slowly increase weekly over time.

DBOND and DAB

I'm still holding onto my DBOND and DAB tokens. It was started from the same minds that brought us EDSI, so there is a solid record of success. Staked DBOND tokens pay out DAB tokens, which you can stake to get paid out more DBOND tokens. Alternatively, you can leave DAB unstaked to receive liquid Hive instead. My current DBOND balance is 276 and DAB balance is 55. Slow but steady growth, I'll take that any day!

POB

Proof of Brain token is one that I earn from posting. I am staking and then delegating them to pob.voter. In return once a week I receive a liquid Hive dividend from them, which is always a good thing. I currently have delegated out 1,374 POB tokens. I'll continue with this because it's basically free to obtain the tokens and free Hive once a week. A win/win situation.

Silver

It's been an interesting week in the silver markets. Silver was showing increasing strength but did sell back down to around $32.50. However, countries will likely be buying up more silver for reserves which will cause shortages. It's not only used in coins and jewelry, but it's an important industrial metal. I think that testing of the $35 mark isn't too far off, and then possibly to new all time highs. Time will tell...

This coin in produced by Tuvalu, an island nation in the South Pacific. They produce silver commemorative coins for collectors and have some really nice coins. One of my favorites from last year is the one you see above, a one Troy ounce Silver Black Flag: The Kingston. Featured on the coin in the Kingston which was the flag ship of Calico Jack who was a notorious pirate. After receiving a kings pardon for his crimes of piracy by the governor of Nassau he left his life of piracy behind until he met Anne Bonney, a married woman. Her husband wouldn't allow a divorce (by purchase as was done at the time) so she ran off with the pirate. Eventually they were captured and Jack was hanged, Bonney was pregnant and given a stay of execution. No records of her release or execution were ever found, so her fate remains a mystery. But it's a very cool coin!

Right now it's $39.73 at APMEX, which is $6.99 over spot price. It's a great deal, I'm going to pick one up since I don't have one yet!
