Happy Day of the Dead & My Hive Goals for 2025
Happy Day of the Dead (Día de Muertos) everyone. It's a beautiful holiday celebrated mainly in Mexico to honor family members and friends who have passed away. Although on the surface it may seem macabre to some, it really is a display of just how important family is to Mexican and Latin American families. You also get to see some beautiful artwork in the not only in the makeup worn by those celebrating, but in the deocrations to be seen everywhere. I was lucky enough to spend November 1st and 2nd once in Mexico City, what an amazing experience! If you ever have the chance I highly recommend it!
Over the last couple of years they have been producing some beautiful colorized Libertad silver rounds to celebrate the holiday. Here is the one from 2024:

I haven't been able to get my hands on either yet, finding them for sale at a reasonable price is hard to do. But these one Troy ounce silver Libertad rounds have been turned into incredible artwork and I would love to have them in my collection! Isn't that amazing detailing they put into the art on these silver canvases?

Just some select pictures I found from parades and events surrounding the celebration in Mexico City. None of my personal pictures are anywhere to be found, I think the ex-wife got rid of them due to jealousy of my old Puerto Rican girlfriend since she had accompanied me to Mexico City long before I met the ex... Oh well...
It's a wonderful celebration and it really is a way to remember those loved ones who have passed on and celebrate their lives. It's also a great way to to blow off some steam and just have fun! If you do decide to visit make sure to use common sense and stay in public areas. Mexico City can be dangerous if you don't know where you are going and don't stay vigilant of your surroundings.
Today it is Saturday which also means it time to update my Saturday Savers status, and also happens to be Hive Power Up Day. So let's kick off with a rather small power up, but some is better than none! I honestly had almost forgotten it was HPUD until I saw a post by @seckorama , thanks for the reminder!
Hive Power
This years goal was to reach 10K Hive Power. I finished it up months ago and reset the goal to 13K HP. Slowly but surely I am on my way there. Right now I have 11,835 HP, so a mere 1,165 to go! With just about 8 weeks to go in the year I need to bring in 145 HP a week, a bit of a tall order at the moment. I did increase my HP this past week by 215 HP, so hope does spring eternal as of yet!
I have complete several other goals this year, but for the sake of time today I will be leaving them off on this post as it is already a bit long. I'll catch you up some more next week!

I would love to see the Day of the Dead celebration sometime in Mexico, sounds very beautiful celebrating loved ones that have passed!😍
Growing up in the Catholic faith as a kid, everyone was encouraged to bring photos of their deceased relatives and place them in Church for the Day of the Dead!😊

I'm glad you aren't underwater, that's a very good thing! Not having grown up Catholic I didn't experience any of that tradition whatsoever. But I like it! In Mexico it's definitely and event to remember that's for sure!

Those are pretty awesome. My wife has pretty much zero Latin in her, but she is a huge fan of many of the themes from this day. Oddly enough, she isn't a fan of Halloween at all.
Day of the Dead has some awesome artwork, it's great to collect! She doesn't need any Latin blood in her to enjoy it. I don't have any!

These coins are really exceptional! What value do they have, except for collectors?
Thanks! Not too much farther to go thank goodness! You won't find these selling anywhere less than $200 anywhere because they are so limited. Even the Libertad itself goes for a pretty penny anymore, often close to $100!

It is a great experience to be part of the Day of the Dead celebration in Mexico
That 215 HP jump this week is solid, and and hitting 11,835 makes 13K feel within reach.
Breaking it into 145 HP per week keeps it clear for the mind, I like that simple math.
Those colorized Libertad co:ins are calling to me too, premiums can sting but the art is worth a slow and steady add, my wallet gets shy around shiny things 😅.
I feel you on HPUD sneaking up, dont let the small power ups fool you, they stack fast :)
