Grow Log Update: All normal on Week 9

Grow Log: Week 9 & Week 1

What's up Weed Lovers and Canna-Fam! It's #WeedWedsnesday again, and you know what that means! That's right, it's time for another update on this year's outdoor grow! I was originally planning to post this yesterday, but the day got away from me, so here we are!

Photoperiod, Week 9

Slow and steady is how its going for the Northern Lights x Perfect Circle strain, with nothing really notable to report. The leaves that were affected by the holes haven't gotten any worse, and it hasn't spread to any of the other leaves, so I’m assuming it had to be an insect or a pest of some sort.

The Lemon Kush plant is by far the best I have grown so far, with lush growth forming at an astounding rate, and it is easily twice the size as its counterpart. The stalk is nice and thick, especially where the double top has formed, and she is forming a lot of nodes. I'm really tempted to try and clone it just because it is such an awesome looking plant, but the mutation worries me, and I'm not sure what else will happen to it as it develops further.

So far I haven't really done anything special to either plant besides adding used coffee grounds into the soil, which does add a boost of nitrogen, but I wouldn't think that this has anything to do with the Lemon Kush's development.

“Bonsai Buds”, Week 9

Originally intended to be grown outside, these autoflower plants became stunted, and were brought inside to finish their cycle as Bonsai Weed plants. Both of these “Bonsai Buds” are doing well and really about the same as last week, with no real visible change.

The Grape Gorilla Poison does look like it's growing more pistils, which I think is a good sign that it's still developing and finishing its life cycle.

The Novakane doesn't really look any different, and I think her nugs are about as big as they are going to get. I didn't really expect anything more than one bud, but I figured it would at least look like a solid top.

Autoflower, Week 1 (Day 3)

The Novakane and Grape Gorilla Poison seeds that I planted last Wednesday have officially popped this week, which were looking a little rough when I noticed them on Monday.

Technically today is Day 4, which again only matters because they should only take 90-95 days or so depending on how you want the trichomes to look (milky, amber, or mixed).

Hopefully since they will spend their entire life cycle outside I won't have to worry about them getting stunted, I'll just have to watch them closely and ensure nothing happens to them this time!

Final Thoughts

I'm not really sure how long the photoperiod plants will take before they will be ready to harvest, but based off of this outdoor grow calendar I found online they probably won't be ready until anywhere from September to November. And if I do end up topping them, I'll be waiting until June or July like it suggests on the calendar.

But on that note, does anyone know when a good time to attempt to clone a plant is, and how to even go about it? Any help or suggestions are greatly appreciated, and I thank you for checking out my post! See you on the next one!

Cloning is easy.. cut a branch with at least 3 nodes. Remove all leaves except top. Cut the stem at a 45° angle. I like to shave the edges here but not necessary.. dip in cloning gel/powder and put into preferred medium. Place under low wattage light with a cover to keep humidity high.. nature does the rest in a couple days. Do more than 1 at a time..
