The Truth Behind the Cover: Learning to Be Misunderstood.

When people say, Do not judge a book by its cover, it is very true, and they really mean so well for that. Judging a book by its cover means you are not seeing the content inside the book, and you presume that the content in the book is good or bad, and you think you know it too well and can decide for it. The same energy applies to us humans. Most of us do not see things well, and we all see things from different directions. Depending on where you stand, that will determine your judgment on any matter.

Most of the time, or let me say some years back, I have always been a person that wants to serve everyone and make everyone happy because I feel like there is no point in being harsh on people. Originally, without being annoyed, people said I have a strong face, which I do not dispute. But does having a strong mean I am a bad person or have a bad character? But then I try to prove to people around me that I do not have a bad character, forgetting that I should have just been me and let them figure me out.

In the process of doing that, many people saw me from another side and felt different, which I am not really bothered about. Then I remembered the saying that says, Don't judge a book by its cover. Alot of us today see something from afar and just think we know all about that thing without getting closer. When someone gets close to me, they see another style of personality and they say it out not to praise me but for me to amend some things I do that is not really giving.

So time goes by, and some that judge me from afar are still leaving with me. Imagine you doing something for someone for about 5 or more years, and you are not the only one benefiting from what you are doing, and people still see you as a bad person for helping them. This made me know that humans will surely be who they are. Sometimes when people do something, I still get crucified for it because they feel I am the wrong person, and this is very sad sometimes. What can I say? I am not the fighting type, so I just maintain my cool.

But one thing I will never agree to is doing things without a proper clarification. It is wonderful to be good because your good deed will surely speak for you when you are not there. Eventually yesterday, I was in a discussion with someone, and the person explained to me how I have been painted to him in the wrong way, but he chose not to believe it because he knows the kind of personality I have. Then I paused for a second and reflected on how many people have heard this and they do not really have the temerity to talk to me. But then we move, and life goes on. We all can't be perfect, and not everyone will see things we do from the good side. You do not need to show people you are a good person. Let your good deed speak for you. After all, humans are not perfect.
