The Gift of Life Amidst a Nation in Turmoil.

Sleeping and waking up every day is always a gift to mankind, but most times we don't appreciate the gift of life. If we can just sit and imagine what we have as a privilege, we will understand why good health should not be underestimated. I was privileged to go to a hospital some weeks back, and I saw how people are lying in bed aimlessly without having the hope that their tomorrow is sure. We as living beings are mostly ungrateful; we run helter-skelter just because we do not want to die, forgetting the fact that one day we all will leave this cruel world.

What is the point when we all run or get feared by death, which we know doesn't fear any security we can have around us? There are lots of insurgencies happening in the country; the country is not safe for anyone, with bandits kidnapping youth corpers and invading churches to kill people. Then we are all scared to go out, especially to church. But do you know that bandits do not just center their focus on churches but work with the information they get from our corrupt leaders because if they do not have a strong backing, how will they work conveniently?

I read a news story some days ago talking about how these bandits kidnapped a whole general of the army. Imagine a bandit kidnapping a general who has enough security to watch over him; how much more those that do not have the money to have bodyguards around them. How much more those that are trying to manage our lives? This country is becoming something that we just need to pay attention to every detail of, and now we get to know that no one can watch over the life of anyone except yourself, and this can be done by staying careful.

Most people will say that when they feel unsafe, they would just travel to another country to find peace. The world is evolving, and a lot is changing. Things are happening so fast, beyond what we can handle, and I believe this is the time we need to run back and find who we truly are and what we believe in. On Twitter some days ago, I read a tweet where someone was asking when the tweet about the kidnapping happened. He said, and I quote, "Where was God when those people were killed and kidnapped?"

Well, it's not like I have an answer for this because I know I cannot answer it best. But one thing I can only say is that He knows best. Going back to the general that was kidnapped by these bandits, a live location was sent to the barracks to rescue the general, but the bandit got there before the general could get the rescue team on board. What is this saying? Nowhere is safe, and then the country is turning upside down, and we just have to stand up and fight for ourselves because the security in this country has been breached, and no one can save anyone because those we all depend on to save us are humans like us.
