Katangari Goes to Town: A Nollywood Crime Thriller Worth Watching.
Katangari is a well-disciplined man, full of confidence and boldness when it comes to detecting crime and fighting against indiscipline. He is so loyal to his job and to the nation. He fights against every crime act; even after he has retired from service, his people still call upon him to help them with cases that are way beyond their power because they are so sure he can handle it very well because of his technical skills. Katangari had to go to town (Abuja) from the village after his cousin chief bello gyang was killed by whom no one knows, and his cousin had to force him to town to inspect who was behind his death before the last will would be shared.
Katangari, being a strict police officer, will not leave his small mansion because he had already planned not to leave the place, and he already had a corner where he planned to be buried after he died too. But with the look of things, he had no choice but to travel to Abuja with his vehicle and gun to carry out his duty as a police officer and a detective. Friends, families, and business partners of the demise were locked up in the mansion of chief Bello to ensure this mission is a success one. Now, the question is, who might be the killer?
The movie was directed by Reuben Reng; the film, was also premiered on Prime Video early this year. I feel so happy watching this movie, Katangari because it's been a while since I saw Segun Arinze act, and now he is giving his full movie strength again as an icon, which was very entertaining to watch. He was not just the only one that made this movie worth watching, but the likes of, Segun Arinze as Katangari, Munachi Abii as Sofia Gyang, Iretiola Doyle as Ulan, Bethel Njoku (Senator) as Pastor Dominion, Gbubemi Ejeye as Chatong Gyang, Patience Ujah as Mima, Edward Fom as Chief Bello Gyang, Sani Mu'azu as Audu and so many others.
Talking about the graphics of the movie, you can't just fight it because it was very good to watch, and I love every bit of the effect and editing there. Well as I must say that Nollywood movies is still trying to get that space, you will still find some faults regardless. But this time, they really made me forget to pick out some faults, but I was able to afterward.
The movie's strength;
- The performance from Segun Arinze was very nice, and it made me really interested.
- I love the way he was able to detect the crime after he had gone through a series of things.
- I love the visuals and the settings of the movie. Those places are very beautiful.
- The level of suspense and the soundtrack were very engaging.
The movie weakness;
- There were some typos in the subtitles.
- Some of the designs were not giving, like the way they did the beards of Segun Arinze, it showed it was formed and probably glued.
- The plot was easily predictable. You could predict what will end the movie as you watch.
Rating: I will rate this performance overall with a 7.5 out of 10.
Overall, the performance was quite entertaining, and yes, it was. I was able to watch the movie and I enjoyed it, despite the flaws it has because there is nothing without flaw. If you are really looking for a movie to watch and be entertained, this is a movie you can try and see the comedy aspect and the other parts too. I hope you watch and enjoy and share your thoughts too.

Wait!
Senator was a pastor here?
A serious one or clown or fake as he used to appear? 😂
I love that guy in movies especially for his "unserious" lifestyle.
This movie sounds interesting. The Storyline looks good and I hope the directing and acts matched it
