I was at a warehouse yesterday trying to price some things with my friend who is trying to set up a mini electrical device store, and he told me to go along with him since I have a little experience about entrepreneur and I have some ideas about electrical devices. I could not question him because I knew that if he was not buoyant enough, he won't have thought of setting up a business because he knows it requires money. So I followed without hesitation.

On getting to the place we have checked some store which was not as big as where we eventually went to last and when we got to this big store, I saw some products which made me baffled, and I wonder how much the owner of the store would have spent to set up this place. Gadgets of different types were sold there, including musical instruments. I would have taken more pictures of this warehouse, but I was unable to explore every part of it because they have restrictions. I stood for some minutes thinking about setting up my own business too, and I thought about the amount I would need to do that for a start, and I realized it won't be small money.

After we had spoken with the owner of the store, and he has agreed to supply some gadgets to us at a wholesale price, then I knew I have the chance to speak with him because he will be glad to give me answers and the first question I asked him from my curiosity was the amount he used in settling up his warehouse. At first, he smiled and said he knew I was going to ask, and he has been watching me as I was glancing through the store for a while.

Then he said he actually started with 10 million naira and I almost shouted because for just a random person, this money is not a small money you can just risk on a business you do not know what will come out from it. He also added that he took some loans to add up to what he initially had, and some friends supported him in the process. Then with time he was able to refund the money of those that had supported him.

This is a big risk, I must say. But you know for you to be an entrepreneur, a good and standard entrepreneur at that, you must be willing to take risk. Not all the risk we take are sometimes bound to bring us good results, but you should know that within all the trials you will still get positive feedback with time as you keep trying.
