Afri-InLeo Initiative 15 - Gospel vs. Secular Music: My Thoughts and Preferences.

Hey guys, it's another weekend, and I am sure we are all having fun out there. Today is another day to share some great thoughts in the Afri-Tunes community and also in the Afri-Inleo Initiative 15, which is tagged gospel or secular music. I love this topic because it is a very good one, which will drive a lot of talk, and I will love to share my thoughts about it today. Talking about music, it is very diverse, and be it secular or gospel music, they are both music, and it depends on every individual to choose which one they want to either go for either gospel music or secular music.

Sometime back when I hadn't really decided which song I wanted to be listening to, I listened to both secular music and gospel music together at the same time, and sometimes some people ask me why I listen to secular music and gospel music together, but I told them that it is my choice and I determine what I want. I love secular music, just as I love gospel music. Both of them have different meanings, and they have different messages they send to people who listen to them.

For the gospel music, people see these types of songs as songs that help them get into another realm, and some use these songs to communicate with God whenever they want to pray. These songs are played in churches and sacred places, and they believe these types of songs will make them really drawn to God. But secular music, on the other hand, is just a random song for fun and enjoyment, in which you see people playing parties, clubhouses, and other occasions for merriment. When going to a live concert, you see people playing songs, either the secular ones or the gospel songs, depending on which gathering it is.

But as regarding this initiative, I will go for gospel music because gospel music has some diversity in how it is done, which makes me love it. Gospel music also has some types that I like and some types that I don't like, but as a normal fact, if it were for the gigs and the merriment time, I would go for the secular music because you can't be at a party where you need to do a jamboree, and you want to play a gospel music. That is why I said both work alongside.

Talking about gospel music and secular music, you see some situations in which secular singers now sing gospel, and some gospel singers are now diverting some of their song styles to secular song, but it is not supposed to be so. With the way things have been now, music is very easy, and your choice will determine the way you will enjoy it. My love for gospel songs is now on the high side because of some composition patterns that it follows.

At the moment, if I like the secular songs, they will be the ones from the live concert that was prerecorded, because that way, you will listen to a lot of syncopation and a lot of great lines, which make those songs interesting to listen to. But if I have to choose between a secular and a gospel song, I will always go for the gospel song, anytime, any day. Here, is my thought on the #afritunes initiative.
