An Aphorism on True Friendship

Still on friendship today, having good friendship is a blessing. You get to have somewhere you can pour into, and in turn you too be poured into; that way there is a balance.

With good friendship, you can be certain to share the highs and lows together, you can share your strength and vulnerabilities together, you can get naughty together, and still feel on top of the world.

With good friendship, be sure to get called out when you mess up; they wouldn't lie to you and smile falsely at you and say or do some
vile things behind you or even in your presence.

So today, make effort, be a good friend;
irrespective of the level of friendship, be of goodwill.
If you are hurt, try to speak out about the hurt and let go, don't pile up anger, the heart is too small to contain bitterness.

If you want good friendship, be ready to hear the truth too, and to work on those things that need work.

So if you have a good friendship, nurture, keep and value it. In them, your life navigation will be easier and full of vigour!

Even the scriptures tell us that there is a friend that sticks closer than a brother (Prov 18:24. So value your friendship and be loyal.

Need I say, it isn't selfish to pick your friends.
Pick the ones that you both share similar values, vision, and can complement you.

Reality: Sometimes, you can pick a friend, and the friend would not pick you, don't feel hurt; kindly leave, friendship shouldn't be forced, one sided or parasitic; rather, it should be symbiotic.

But above all, pray for good and godly friends. You too , be a good and godly friend to another. You can even pray for strength to be a good friend if you think you can do better.
