🇪🇸 ~ Feliz Caturday queridos amigos, espero todos se encuentren bien, especialmente los peluditos de la casa. Ya estamos muy cerca de terminar el año y a pocas semanas de celebrar año nuevo, por aqui todavía tengo varias cosas que hacer respecto a la salud de los mininos que estan bajo mi cuidado (propios y comunitarios), aunque lo más pesado ya pasó.
🇺🇸 ~ Happy Caturday, dear friends. I hope you are all well, especially the furry ones in your homes. We are very close to the end of the year and just a few weeks away from celebrating the New Year. Here, I still have several things to do regarding the health of the cats in my care (my own and those in the community), although the hardest part is already over.
Hace pocos meses en mi estado/ciudad hubo elecciones y eso significa nuevo gobernador y nuevo alcalde, lo que a su vez representa algunos cambios en muchas instituciones y eso incluyó al "Instituto de Protección Animal" de mi ciudad, donde nos han ayudado mucho con el tema de las esterilizaciones y vacunación para los gatos de nuestra comunidad.
A few months ago, there were elections in my state/city, which meant a new governor and a new mayor. This, in turn, led to some changes in many institutions, including my city's "Animal Protection Institute", which has helped us a lot with sterilizations and vaccinations for cats in our community.
Mientras esos cambios se producían el instituto tuvo unas pequeñas vacaciones en las que no pudimos contar con sus programas de atención veterinaria, pero afortunadamente ya se reactivaron en su sede principal, y tambien estan haciendo muchas actividades extras en distintos sectores de nuestra enorme ciudad.
While these changes were taking place, the institute took a short break during which we were unable to access its veterinary care programs. Fortunately, however, they have now resumed operations at their main headquarters, and they are also carrying out many extra activities in different areas of our huge city.

Por ejemplo recientemente hubo una extensión de su programa de vacunación y desparasitación canina y felina muy cerca del sector donde me encuentro actualmente, me entere un poco tarde ese mismo día pero no lo pense dos veces para alistarme, preparar a Lluvia y a Michiru en los kennels e ir por sus vacunas contra la rabia. No las había vacunado antes porque estaban muy pequeñas (nacieron en Febrero de este año), y luego estaban cumpliendo el post-operatorio de sus cirugías de esterilización.
For example, recently there was an extension of their dog and cat vaccination and deworming program very close to where I am currently staying. I found out a little late that same day, but I didn't think twice about getting ready, preparing Lluvia and Michiru in the kennels, and going to get their rabies shots. I hadn't vaccinated them before because they were too young (they were born in February this year), and then they were recovering from their sterilization surgeries
¡Y las niñas se portaron muy bien!, me siento super orgullosa de ellas porque había mucho ruido y las condiciones no eran las mejores, pero ellas fueron muy valientes y educadas.
And the girls behaved very well! I am extremely proud of them because it was very noisy and the conditions were not ideal, but they were very brave and polite.
Tambien por si te lo preguntas, tanto las vacunas como el desparasitante es gratuito en estas jornadas (disculpen que repita información, me gusta mencionarlo cada vez que puedo por si alguna persona que me lee y es de mi misma ciudad pueda conocer de esta ayuda); me gustaría antes que termine el año poder vacunar a todos los gatos que cuidamos dentro y fuera de casa, que son un total actualmente de 7 gatos ya todos adultos. No he podido llevarlos como me gustaría por falta de kennels.
Also, in case you're wondering, both vaccinations and deworming are free during these campaigns (sorry to repeat this information, but I like to mention it whenever I can in case anyone reading this who lives in my city might be interested in this assistance). Before the end of the year, I would like to vaccinate all the cats we care for inside and outside the home, which currently total seven adult cats. I haven't been able to take them as I would like due to a lack of kennels.
✦ In other news, Apolo is doing very well, although yesterday he seems to have gotten into a fight with a bigger cat and came home with a bleeding paw. I think he hurt a nail, but today he has recovered ✦
Para terminar, el retorno a casa fue algo apresurado, lamentablemente había mucho calor y Michiru y Lluvia dentro de los kennels comenzaron a jadear y salivar mucho, me asusté bastante pero poco pude hacer mas que apurar el paso; cuando llegamos a casa inmediatamente las saqué de los kennels y las coloque cerca del aire acondicionado, y una vez se refrescaron volvieron a la normalidad.
En las horas y dias siguientes todo estuvo bien, no presentaron reacciones a las vacunas ni fiebre 😄 🙌
Lluvia sigue aqui conmigo y estoy considerando quedármela, y Michiru esta felizmente en su nuevo hogar (lloré mucho el día que la envié con su nueva mamá, no ha sido facil pero sabía que ese día llegaría y que es lo mejor para su bienestar y felicidad).
Agradezco la oportunidad de haber sido y seguir siendo hogar de paso para gatitos, pero mi corazón no esta soportando amigos, cuando te despides una parte de tu alma se va con ellos y jamas olvidas sus caritas ni sus nombres.

Finally, the return home was somewhat rushed. Unfortunately, it was very hot, and Michiru and Lluvia began panting and salivating profusely inside their kennels. I was quite alarmed, but there was little I could do other than hurry. When we arrived home, I immediately took them out of their kennels and placed them near the air conditioner. Once they cooled down, they returned to normal.
In the hours and days that followed, everything was fine. They didn't have any reactions to the vaccines or fever 😄 🙌
Lluvia is still here with me, and I am considering keeping her. Michiru is happily in her new home. I cried a lot the day I sent her off with her new mom. It hasn't been easy, but I knew that day would come and that it was best for her well-being and happiness.
I am grateful for the opportunity to have been and continue to be a temporary home for kittens, but my heart can't take it anymore, my friends. When you say goodbye, a part of your soul goes with them, and you never forget their little faces or their names.
