Yeo Eui Joon es un estudiante que trabaja en una tienda de conveniencia situada en un zona peligrosa llena de gangster, necesita el trabajo para pagar sus estudios y un secreto familiar que casi nadie conoce.

Una noche aparece Gun Woo, que se convierte en un cliente habitual de la tienda y muestra interés en Yeo Eui Joon confundiéndolo con un trainee de idol o actor, aunque este ya esta enamorado hace años de un compañero de la universidad, comienza a sentir cosas por Gun Woo.

Mientras el drama universitario de Yeo Eui Joon transcurre entre la ilusión y la desilusión, sumado al agotamiento mental y físico de sus largas jornadas de trabajo, Gun Woo parece siempre estar allí para apoyarlo, y así comienza una relación entre ambos con términos ambiguos (al inicio), pero a medida que avanza la historia, se nos presenta a dos personajes con sentimientos muy genuinos que no buscan dañarse o aprovecharse el uno del otro, todo lo contrario.

Un poco avanzada la historia, Gun Woo le propone a nuestro protagonista "probarlo", una manera de decirle que le de una oportunidad, y que si no le gusta, siempre puede desecharlo... lo sé, dicho así es doloroso pero es justo lo que dice el personaje, y ese es uno de los tantos elementos que hace llamativa a "The Dangerous Convenience Store", Gun Woo no es el típico protagonista abusivo y violento, en cambio, busca entender a su manera a Yeo Eui Joon y acepta rápidamente sus sentimientos por el.

𝐒𝐮𝐦𝐦𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝐇𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐲 - Yeo Eui Joon is a student who works at a convenience store in a dangerous area full of gangsters. He needs the job to pay for his studies and to keep a family secret that almost no one knows.

One night, Gun Woo appears and becomes a regular customer of the store. He mistakes Yeo Eui Joon for an idol trainee or actor and shows interest in him. Although Yeo Eui Joon was in love with a college classmate years ago, he begins to feel things for Gun Woo.

Yeo Eui Joon's college drama oscillates between illusion and disillusionment. Added to the mental and physical exhaustion of his long workdays, Gun Woo always seems to be there to support him. Thus begins their ambiguous relationship. As the story progresses, we are introduced to two genuine characters who do not seek to harm or take advantage of each other.

Later in the story, Gun Woo proposes to our protagonist as a "test," a way of telling him to give him a chance and that he can discard him if he doesn't like him. It's painful to say it that way, but that's what the character says. It's one of the many elements that make "The Dangerous Convenience Store" striking. Gun Woo is not the typical abusive and violent protagonist. Instead, he seeks to understand Yeo Eui Joon and quickly accepts his feelings for him.

Hay muchas escenas destacables en esta historia, y para mi, las mejores han sido cuando Gun Woo se arrodilla cuando Yeo Eui Joon esta triste, cuando sostiene su rostro y le presta absoluta atención con tanto cariño (de hecho tome muchas capturas de esta escena porque LO AME, LO AME MUCHO).

𝐇𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐥𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐬 - There are many remarkable scenes in this story, and for me, the best ones have been when Gun Woo kneels down when Yeo Eui Joon is sad, when he holds his face and gives him absolute attention with so much affection (I actually took many screenshots of this scene because I LOVED, LOVED, LOVED IT SO MUCH).

También el ritmo de la historia al ser lento, hace que los diálogos donde hay confesiones o revelaciones serias sean más memorables, como Gun Woo diciéndole a Yeo Eui Joon que esperaría años por el.

The slow pace of the story also makes the dialogue containing confessions or serious revelations more memorable. For example, Gun Woo tells Yeo Eui Joon that he will wait years for him.

"The Dangerous Convenience Store" plantea 2 situaciones importantes de vida por las que creo es una buena obra y no solo "otro BL estereotipado":

A) ¿Puedes amar a alguien que no conoces?, Yeo Eui Joon no sabe nada sobre Gun Woo, sobre sus padres, familia, trabajo, cosas favoritas, cosas que no le gustan, no sabe absolutamente nada de esta persona y se pregunta cómo puede tener sentimientos por el, muchas veces pregunta, y Gun Woo se niega a responder. Por el lado contrario Gun Woo no sufre de esta clase de preocupaciones, solo sabe que ama a Yeo Eui Joon y está en paz con el hecho de no saber el por qué se ha enamorado de el, aunque nunca se ha sentido atraído por un hombre antes ni se consideraba homosexual, no se complica demasiado, es bastante directo.

[Spoiler] Gun Woo es reservado con esa informacion porque teme que el conocimiento de esas cosas ponga en peligro a Yeo Eui Joon, que es inocente y nada tiene que ver con el mundo del crimen, porque sí, Gun Woo pertenece a una organización criminal peligrosa. A su manera de pensar, mientras menos sepa Yeo Eui Joon, más alejado del peligro estará, pero ignora que Yeo Eui Joon se siente lastimado por ser tratado de esa manera, por ser "mantenido a raya".

B) Las cosas que callamos para no sobrecargar a los que nos rodean, Yeo Eui Joon tiene un secreto familiar importante. Cuando ha tratado de compartirlo con otros, las personas han demostrado sentirse incómodas y hasta cambian el tema rápidamente para no tener que hablar de eso, en lugar de ser empáticos y mostrarle apoyo y afecto para sobrellevar esa situación. Yeo Eui Joon se siente avergonzado y no quiere "sobrecargar" a otros con esa información, aunque esa responsabilidad prácticamente este definiendo su vida y sea la razon por la que trabaja en un sitio tan peligroso.

! [Spoiler] Los padres de Yeo Eui Joon murieron en un trágico accidente, y su hermano mayor está en coma. Para cubrir los altos costos médicos el necesita trabajar, es el único responsable cuidador de su hermano. Pero hey, avanzada la historia su hermano despierta del coma y recupera su salud, puede llevar una vida normal, también aprueba y apoya la relacion de los protagonistas. Es un personaje adorable que aporta alta dosis de dulzura a la trama.

Como dato extra: Hay muchas escenas NSFW ultra explicitas con alto detalle. Si no te gusta esta clase de contenido te recomiendo no leerlo. Y una advertencia a tener en cuenta es que al inicio Gun Woo no comprende bien cómo tener intimidad con Yeo Eui Joon, pero en las ocasiones que siguen ese aspecto mejora así que si te gustan las historias libres de violencia de ese tipo, esta es una opción más que decente.

𝐖𝐡𝐲 𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐝 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐰𝐚𝐭𝐜𝐡 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐬𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐬? - "The Dangerous Convenience Store" raises two important questions about life, which is why I think it's a good work and not just "another stereotypical BL."

A) Can you love someone you don't know?: Yeo Eui Joon knows nothing about Gun Woo: his parents, family, job, favorite things, or things he doesn't like. He knows nothing about this person and wonders how he can have feelings for him. He asks many times, but Gun Woo refuses to answer. Gun Woo, on the other hand, doesn't suffer from these kinds of worries. He just knows that he loves Yeo Eui Joon and is at peace with the fact that he doesn't know why he fell in love with him. Although he had never been attracted to a man before, nor considered himself homosexual, he doesn't overcomplicate things. He is quite straightforward.

! [Spoiler] Gun Woo keeps that information secret because he fears that Yeo Eui Joon will be in danger if he knows about the criminal organization that Gun Woo belongs to. Yeo Eui Joon is innocent and has nothing to do with the criminal world. In his mind, the less Yeo Eui Joon knows, the safer he will be. However, he ignores the fact that Yeo Eui Joon is hurt by being treated this way, by being "kept in line."

B) The things we keep quiet so as not to burden those around us: Yeo Eui Joon has an important family secret. When he has tried to share it with others, they have proven to be uncomfortable, quickly changing the subject instead of being empathetic and showing him support and affection to help him cope. Yeo Eui Joon feels ashamed and does not want to "burden" others with this information, even though it practically defines her life and explains why she works in such a dangerous place.

! [Spoiler] Yeo Eui Joon's parents died in a tragic accident, and his older brother is in a coma. To cover the high medical costs, he works and is the only responsible caregiver for his brother. Late in the story, his brother wakes up from the coma, recovers his health, and can lead a normal life. He also approves of and supports the protagonists' relationship. He is a lovable character who adds sweetness to the plot.

As a bonus, there are many ultra-explicit, NSFW scenes with high detail. If you don't like this kind of content, I recommend not reading it. One caveat is that Gun Woo doesn't quite understand how to be intimate with Yeo Eui Joon at the beginning, but that aspect improves as the story progresses. So, if you prefer stories without violence of that kind, this is a more than decent choice.
