When I was your age I would have said I was a gamer for life.
Then I got married
Enjoy the gaming while it lasts :)
As for writing and engaging as the way to advance on Hive. For the majority you are absolutely correct. Writing good posts keeps you interesting. Engaging helps you meet people and gets your posts views.
However, there are other great ways to be successful on Hive. Creating useful dApps is one of them if you are a programmer :)

LOL i will make sure my wife is a gamer too then.
Gaming will never end for me and you still play splinterlands so u havent really stopped either :P
Ya there are other ways but even if you create the dapps you kinda need to engage and get out there for people know about your dapps. no i cant code for my life lol but ya dapps help hive as well successful or not well depends how good your dapps is O.O

If your wife is also a gamer then you'll be stuck looking after the kids while she plays ;)
In reality though as I age my reflex time gets slower and slower so I suck at games that I once loved. Very sad :(

I'm almost 55. Tried out beat saber and love it but certainly can tell my flexibility and reaction time aren't what they used to be :)
As for kids. Mixed blessing there ... but you can decide that on your own :)
