Trying to beat the rain on Kirkcaldy's Esplanade in Scotland
Sometimes this Cinderfella drops a booboo!
That day was yesterday, I had forget to get bread. Being the house chef I make the breakfast and lunch for Mrs T to take to work.
However, I had cocked up and was left short. The online grocery delivery was not coming to today. I had nothing for her breakfast.
Six am jaunt to Tesco
Luckily we have a Tesco express, which is a grocery chain about a ten minute walk away which opened 6am. I had enough time to get there, make a sandwich and get her bag packed all before her ride came at 6.40 to pick her.
It is still pitch black at 6 am in February.
But later on in the day I noticed that there was some blue sky.
So I needed food for dinner, and thought hey ho let's take a trip down to the Lidl at the beach.
So we zip down Ramsey Street first.
Past the abandoned school complex
But do you see what is on the roof?
It's a fluffing bush trying to grow!
Abbotshall Infant School
Just look at the stone carving on an infants school!
That detail, can you imagine something like that being done today?
Nah, neither can I!
Town scuplture
Did you spot a large object in the artwork?
It is in there to celebrate the Links Street market that we have every year...
It was a Ferris wheel.
We turn left now and down this street is the esplanade and the sea!
I needed some vitamin Sea!
At the bottom of the road we cut through the car park which is often occupied with these wee campervan things.
New picnic tables!
The esplanade is quite long, so it is good they have more and more places to sit and eat. It gets pretty popular with runners walkers cyclists and dog walkers too!
The tide was out, but I was in a hurry, I had food to buy and a dinner to cook.
So no going down onto the sand. We can just watch any shenanigans from up here!
Talking of dinner, what do you think Mr Raven was upto?
Not sure if he was looking for treasure or getting a morsel of food!
We are a seaside town and we have heaps of fuffing seagulls.
I don't mind them when they are on the sea though. This looked like a fledging was being chased by an adult one.
Having a dog is great company and of course a great way to take exercise. This couple seemed dressed for winter!
Which of course we are in.
Me dressed in a hoodie was the optimistic one!
But would you look at the fluffing weather...
Where has the blue sky gone to???
The closer I got, the more I could sense rain in the air...
So I got into double march mode!
The Teal burn
Remember the first beachshot with the water and concrete blocks, well that was the Teal burn on it's way to the sea.
This is it before it flows under the road!
Enough of that, let's get that food bought!
I managed to get some large mushrooms for half price.
Actually looks quite healthy food ... bananas, tortilla wraps, coriander, mushrooms, potatoes and chorizo. I love seeing what is on offer and then knocking something up on the fly!
Panaramic shot!
I leave you with a paranamic shot of where I was.
I think it shows perfectly the change in weather and sky!
Cheers everyone!
Well this post is for #wednesdaywalk which was inspired by @tattoodjay
Thanks for visiting and I hope you managed to get out for a walk this week.

I think it's great that you can walk most everywhere you need to go. That kind of thing just doesn't happen around here unless you live inside the city. The closest grocery store to where I live would be a two hour and eighteen minute walk one way. Actually, there is one about two miles away, but their prices are higher.
People here don't realise how lucky they are. We sold the car during the pandemic and realised we didn't need it. That is one massive difference between here and there. When we go back to Mrs T's family in Florida then yes it is cars to do anything!
Yeah, the distances over here are just so crazy.
That happens to every Cinderfella in the world: we are late to do our chores! Mrs. T is a lucky girl, not only do you accompany her to her craft classes, buy her coats, but you also make her breakfast and lunch. You are a boy 10! Good thing you ran because that storm looks powerful. Ah, I imagine a little bird must have carried a seed up to that roof and grown that bush. Bottom line: even in the most unexpected places, the unbelievable can happen. Have a nice Wednesday, Ed. Hugs
I am a good boy 😜 . For some things I would say...
Yeah nature takes over what us humans build and abandon. It could have been the wind too.
You are right and I always like to think the unexpected. Big hugs and have a terrific Thursday Nancy 🤗
Its great you have the shops in easy walking distance makes it handy when you have forgotten something
shame that old school is run down but it also shows the power pf nature to take back over from anything man made
Thanks for joining the Wednesday Walk
have a great day
Yes I don't think I could live somewhere again that I can't walk easily to get things!
Have a good one too.
I am here smiling when you said it was a march to get home on time and beat the rain 😁
Hehe it was a march as I had to go up murder hill too!
