The hunt for Queen Camilla's Shoe

Hello Hello Hivians

I try to participate in the Wednesday Walk challenge most weeks. Apparantly there is a hearwave going on!

Somebody tell the weather gods in Kirkcaldy, Scotland please...

The hunt for Queen Camilla's Shoe.png

image.png

Today was a Royal visit to our town...

Yes King Charles III and Queen Camilla were in town as part of the centenary celebrations of war memorial's donation by John Nairn.

image.png

As part of this celebration which was arranged by the local branch of the British Legion, there was a time capsule created. This was buried in a cairn which was opened by their Majesties.

image.png

I ended up being too busy this morning to actually see them live... Probably just as well as it was raining cats and dogs all day.

I did however have to go pick up a prescription in late afternoon and was able to swing by the galleries.

Proof of their Majesties visit today 2nd July 2025...

image.png

image.png

We are on the trail though of what happened on my walk down to see that cairn ...

image.png

The weather was crappy, but it least the rain had stopped when I left.

But wait what was this .... @tattoodjay always says to us look around for something interesting or out of the ordinary ....

image.png

The shoe ...

Do you see it?

image.png

A regal looking sparkly shoe!

Could it be that Queen Camilla had come up this street on the way back from unveiling the cairn?

image.png

Too cheap at £1.70

Look at all those red labels ... It means has been discounted many times!

Yeah too cheap for a Queen surely...

image.png

There you can see her shoe on the ground under the bush!

image.png

image.png

image.png

The recent rains have made the flowers and wild flowers go fluffing mental!

image.png

Do you know this yellow flower?

Last year there were loads of them in this garden. They are the favourite food of a pretty flutterby insect!

image.png

Always a flower

I do miss someone from the chain, and every time I see a flower I do think of someone I knew from tsu and was a popular figure here @dswigle

image.png

Talking of flowers ....

image.png

... don't you just love a gorgeous yellow 🌻

image.png

image.png

On my way home ... I saw a broken bus with a replacement...

image.png

I snapped a pic and damn near guillotined myself on these planks of wood that had no business being stuck out so much on the pavement!

image.png

image.png

This post is for #wednesdaywalk which was inspired by @tattoodjay

Thanks for visiting and I hope you managed to get out for a walk this week.

How exciting! I bet that shoe fell from Bridget on her way back from an awesome party! Or maybe Beth and Jack had a fight in that red car and Jack luckily dodged the shoe Beth threw at him while he was on the steering wheel!!! The possibilities are endless! Ha! It also rained here. Very cold too!

Not so sure it was from a party, but it could have been thrown through the window of that moving red car! You and your imagination Deraa!

Well I do love lovely things after all! I am a firm believer that we can usually find a positive in anything, so that gloomy weather sure gives the flowers a beautiful feel.

Salamat for this and I am glad you felt like you were here too :)

Beautiful photos. Your idea of a royal shoe is very original, but it would be weird if they used cheap shoes, hahaha. I loved the photo of the double-decker buses. Thanks for sharing, dear @tengolotodo. A big hug from Maracay.

Thanks Irvin, hehe yes it would really be weird if a Queen wore cheap shoes.
Do you have double-decker buses in Maracay? I will be riding one of those in a few hours time!

No. There aren't any in Maracay. I've only seen a few on long-distance buses. In Caracas, there's a tourist line with an open-air second floor, which offers tours around the city. Happy day, dear @tengolotodo.

Why do women in your village leave sandals on the pavement? This is the third time I've seen a forgotten slipper on your walks!!! Someone must have a Cinderella complex. When you said it was a queen's slipper, I was just going to tell you the price: besides, in the rain, queens can't wear bare shoes. hahaha. I love sunflowers and all the yellow flowers!!!! A yellow hug for you, Ed

Hehe so you remember some of the other female shoes I see when I am out walking!

Hehe well this was where you got that yellow sunflower from! She did have a big umbrella and wore a raincoat, I didn't see what here shoes were like!

Hehe a big yellow flowery hug Nancy :)

I wish there could be a prize if you find a real shoe of the queen, but as the price says, it's likely not from the queen. I'm happy to drop by in one of your blogs again, Uncle Ed. Keep yourself warmer from the coldness brought by the rain.

Hiya Ayane, I just saw your post with your minime! Well cute and it is just wonderful to you again :)
Ah yes it wasn't Queen Camilla's shoes, it was raining so she had sensible shoes on🤣

OH that's maybe one of the shoes of a party girl that got so drunk and leave her sandals anywhere, for real! many possibilities or the owner got an argument with her lover and she throw that.

Hehe yes I like the thinking that she threw her shoe after an argument, with her lover or someone else? Who knows lol

Well the weather was wet and gloomy and a shame since it was the visit of the King and Queen to our town. But no matter the weather, the flowers are gorgeous.

That shoe’s been through more price cuts than a clearance rack on Black Friday! Definitely not the kind of footwear a Queen would pick, unless she’s got a secret soft spot for bargain hunting on the side.😄😅

Haha Gretel you got it. The King has always been a keen supporter of the environment, I remember in the 70s everyone here called him mad, yet what he said would happen has happened.

It’s funny that people called him “mad” back then, but now his warnings and efforts feel more relevant than ever.🤗

Hehehe. What did the plank do to you?😛😛. Those were pretty flowers. And the shoe. Maybe it broke along the way and she had to leave it there 😌😌.

Haha the planks very nearly smashed into my face, I managed to duck just in time🤣

I've sometimes seen the odd shoe in the street and wondered how it got there. I expect the queen wears something more sensible, especially if it's raining.

The small yellow flower looks like ragwort. I know it's poisonous to horses. We've had some in the garden and it's popular with the caterpillars of the cinnabar moth.

It was a crappy day on Wednesday, so both Camilla and Charles were adorned in suitable footwear for the weather lol.
That's exactly what it is. Ragwort, it is great for the pollinators and in summer is home to the production of cinnibar moths which are ever so pretty. The horses are clever as they don't seem to eat it in our local fields where they go out to pasture.

My other half had a horse and was always pulling up the ragwort in the field.

Yeah I am always quite surprised when I see it in their fields. It is the same toxicity with cows, we have a road with a farm on one side and fields on the other side. On the left you can see the farmer clearing ragwort before he lets the cows out, and on the right it grows in the fields by the fences where horses are. Well odd.
