Reasons to be Thankful on this Beautiful Sunday

Hello Hello Hivians.

I have been a busy bee this morning in between cleaning some of the house and catching up on Hive and of course listening to random tunes on come Ian Dury and the Blockheads with Reasons to be Cheerful, Part 3 and after the last couple of days I was hell yeah Reasons to be Thankful too!

Reasons to be Thankful on this Beautiful Sunday.png

image.png

What a beautiful weekend we have just had.

image.png

This was the scene on the main part of our beach this weekend.

We had glorious weather and there were people swimming, paddle boarding, bbqing and generally having fun, and we were saying who needs to drive to an airport and have all the hassle of flying to get sun when we have all this on our doorstep and it is free.

image.png

But then you get fluffing eejits who would do anything to ruin it for the majority.

image.png

We have trash bins galore around these picnic tables.

So of course, we did clear up their mess, as I don't want the animals getting hold of that plastic.

image.png

image.png

The views nature gives us for free are just gorgeous.

image.png

Talking of nature and free, she also showed us some gorgeous families...

Happy Mother's Day

Today is Mother's Day in America and some other countries around the globe, so it was fitting we saw some mothers in action.

The Eider family and fluffing cuteness

image.png

I think Eider ducks are so funky looking, the black and white males with their weird head.

If you look carefully at the brown bird, which is the female duck and the mother you can see some ducklings on her right!

It wasn't just those Eider ducks with kids that we saw...

Ruddy Turnstones

This little family will get their own post too.

image.png

These wee wading birds are called Ruddy Turnstones...

What a corker of a name, do you know why they are called that?

image.png

Seafield Seals

image.png

The seals are always fun to see, although I really need to bring my camera to get up and close to them.

image.png

The tide was high when we went which was cool, and we decided to go for a decent walk...

Hike up high

image.png

I will make a proper post of the Fife Coastal Path that we walked which stretches along the coast in Fife where we are.

It often runs parallel to the railway, which is where we are now.

image.png

This fence stops you falling onto the railway track and can you see those teeny weeny flowers?

I of course thought of Eka @ekavieka and his #sundayrandom, where he shares some random macro shots.

image.png

Well you can't get much more random than some teeny flowers by the railway track in Fife, Scotland. Just look at the magnified hairs on the flower leaves and stems.

Can you see the castle?

image.png

I have walked up and down this beach umpteen times, and it was not until yesterday when I was taking this picture that I saw the castle in the background.

Ravenscraig castle is at the other end of the town in a nice park, and I need to take some pictures again of it. It was closed for a few years but they reopened it a couple of months ago.

We really do have loads to do here and so much to be thankful for.

I love how families with wee kids actually get out and play making sandcastles and digging holes in the beach.

It felt like rolling back the years!

image.png

In this fcked up world of ours, where people are intent on satisfying their own egos and destroying others, it is good to take a minute and realise just how much we have to be thankful for.

image.png

This Sunday post is my contribution to #sublimesunday initiated by @c0ff33a amd #beautifulsunday initiated by @ace108 as well as #sundayrandom started by @ekavieka.

Thanks so much for popping in and may you have a fluffing awesome Sunday.

I have one thousand and one reasons to be grateful, too. It's Mother's day here in Nigeria, too and it was fun. Though my church decided to postpone the celebration till next Sunday due to some activities that had taken up the chance.

I love the free gift of Nature and I think that's another reason to be grateful 🙏

Happy New Week, Teng! 😊

Nature really rocks and never fails to amaze me. Well I hope next Sunday you have some more fun with Mother's Day part 2!
Of course we are also grateful on Hive getting to see that beaming smile of yours Busayo:)

Have a wonderful week and enjoy hosting your wee sister!

What a refreshing read, your Sunday was a beautiful mix of productivity, peace, and appreciation! So special about finding joy in your own backyard, and you captured that beautifully. 😍

Salamat Gretal, I love our backyard, there is beauty in anything, sometimes we just need to look. But here at this time of year, there is no need to look as it bops you in your face.
I wish you a wonderful week full of productivity positivity and the most awesome of words!

Me gozo en que haya tenido excelente domingo. Gracis por compartir con nosotros sus experiencias

Es un placer. También es un buen lugar para guardar buenos recuerdos!

I don't understand why people can be so self fish to leave their trash all over and stain the nice environment.

What really annoys me is there is no shortage of trash bins, even ones with recycling were only a few steps from there!
Some people are just idiots and then their children learn from them!

The scenery is really lovely, we should definitely be grateful for enjoying these moments. Unfortunately, there are always unconscious people who leave trash and ruin the experience.

You are right, the scenery is gorgeous, and even if idiots will leave trash, then we should at least clear it up and not mar the scenic view.

A well spent beautiful Sunday indeed, beautiful flower and a nice beach instead of satisfying our egos let us SPREAD love and kindness to make our world a better place to live.

Tagore said, “The earth is insulted and offers its flowers in response.”
If human beings would learn from nature, everything would be different. I love these pictures: to find so much blue in your landscapes when until a few months ago everything was grey seems to me a real gift. I too am very grateful, every day, for everything I have and even the things I don't have. For example, even though I am short-sighted, I am grateful to be able to see these pictures and to have the joy of knowing, even if it's only here, such distant and beautiful landscapes. Hugs, Ed

Even when the earth is harmed or neglected, it responds with beauty and resilience, offering its flowers as a sign of its enduring spirit and a testament to its intrinsic value....

Thank you Nancy for mentioning Tagore, what a man he was. Did you know that he was the first non-European writer to be awarded the Nobel Prize for Literature.

And yes even though you are short-sighted you can see pictures and yes I am still smiling about your blue beer post. A beautiful hug to you today Nancy :)

You are spot, the simpler things in life often are the ones that bring us greatest joy and yes how we appreciate them helps with our mental wellbeing.

Beautiful pictures, peaceful and graceful animals...there's beauty in nature and the least we can do is to be appreciative.

Why is the bird 🐦 called RUDDY TURNSTONES?

Why is the bird 🐦 called RUDDY TURNSTONES?

I am glad you asked! Here we call something ruddy instead of swearing, and also
the term "ruddy" is used to describe a reddish, dull red, or reddish-brown color. That is the colour of the birds.

They are called Turnstones, because that is what they do to find food... they literally turn stones!

So there you go, a well naming lesson!

There really is beauty in nature and we should appreciate it.

Salamat Krissy well if we all kept things clean, think how much better the world would be. But yeah it was a great Sunday outside, when we have good weather we have to get outside and enjoy it.
Enjoy your week and thanks for commenting :)
