Sometimes things just don't go to plan!

Green smoothie time

Are you a fan of smoothies?

I am a begrudging fan of green smoothies, allegedly they are good for you! Mrs T used to make them all the time and I would be forced to drink them.

Actually they were pretty good.

To cut a long story short, she got out of the habit of making them and I packed the blender away. However on Saturday during a grocery shop, in popped kale and spinach together with some bananas and orange into my shopping trolley.

Okay says I?

Green smoothies says she!

image.png

Blender said no

We bought the ingredients on Saturday and on Sunday shewent to make the first batch. As you can see it was green, however the motor burnt out.

The fluffing blender had given up the ghost. No matter, it was a few years old and had taken a battering!

Venture forth and bring me a blender

We had a quick look on Amazon, having Amazon Prime here gets you next day free delivery which could save you a bit of money.

However there was not much in the way of bargains and there was so many to choose from.

In the meantime Mrs T had found a cheap one on Asda and I thought I would go and pick it up on Monday.

image.png

I had stuff to do in town anyway.

The weather was a bit crappy so decided to take a busto town and once finished my biz wouldt ake another bus to the blender supermarket!

The first bus was a double decker and empty so upstairs I went and bagged a front row seat for the view.

Mind you as it was a small journey, no sooner had I sat down than it was time to walk back down the stairs!

image.png

Next bus was a single decker and had a fair few folk in it.

image.png

image.png

It was an uneventful ride and soon it was time to alight the bus.

image.png

Nice to See you!

Well it's nice to be here said! !

YOu can tell it is winter when the tree is full of brown sticks and no leaves!

The sky well sometimes a wee filter makes a picture less gloomy shall we say!

image.png

image.png

So yes that was the real sky, gloomy and actually there was rain in the air!

image.png

Asda was the name of the supermarket and you might see the MacDonalds M on the signage.

Well at one point Asda was owned by Walmart who used to often have a MacDonalds in their stores.

image.png

I found the aisle and there were blenders galore.

image.png

They were not decent sized blenders though!

The ones seen by Mrs T online were sold out and would be instick later in the week according to the shop staff.

Mmm said I... why was it not shown as out of stock on the interwebby then!

image.png

Not a wasted trip

image.png

I did manage to score a trifle reduced from £3 down to £1.

It was a raspberry one, my all time favourite fruit!

image.png

It's not a raspberry yoghurt @deraaa but possibly my favourite dessert of all time!

Cheers everyone!

Well this post is for #wednesdaywalk which was inspired by @tattoodjay

Thanks for visiting and I hope you managed to get out for a walk this week.

That was a lot of trouble to end up with no blender. Did you ever manage to order one?

My wife and I have a Ninja blender right now. It is fine, but if we ever get a new one I think we are going to pony up for a Vitamix. They are used in restaurants all over the globe for a reason.

Ah I do like some Ninja things, we got a couple. Vitamix looks good right enough.

Did she finish grinding those veggies? I only like fruit juice. Haven't tried veggies so far😌.

I've now added ASDA to my knowledge of British supermarkets - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Asda

What is bus culture like in your area? Do people chit-chat with each other, or is the norm to sit quietly, scrolling away on a mobile device?

I have to admit I am not a fan of green smoothies even though I know they are good for us,
I used to do some with my wife with some greens, just a tad and carrots and apple that werent to bad, but havent had them for a couple of years, maybe its time for me to find the blender

Thanks for joining the Wednesday walk and have a great day

Such a pity for the blender. It looked pitiful, stuffed with all those greens 😁

I'm not a fan of green juices, but I drink them because I do, and Mrs. T is right: they are excellent for reducing inflammation and detoxifying the body. Here at home the blender burned down in December, on the 24th, and I had to endure a queue of a thousand kilometers (that's an exaggeration), because they were waiting for the blender at home. Well, you have to wait until next week. Hugs, my friend
