Central bar with Level Head Beer

Hello Hivians and all you beer lovers. Are you ready for Valentine's Day?

Lovers month ~ so let's try to keep a level head!

Well we are in the beer lovers community so let's kick of with a fine pint!

We were in St Andrews recently and could not find an open coffee shop that was not crowded with the Pimms brigade, so found somewhere more interesting!

The Central Bar

Yes that somewhere more interesting was The Central bar in the heart of St Andrews in Fife, Scotland.

image.png

It is actually a Belhaven Bar but like so many bars now they are all part of a little brewery which is owned by a bigger one etc.

Level Head

image.png

Level Head is a Session IPA. It is only around 4% but it is a very drinkable wee pint!

image.png

The bar decor was more like a proper pub and not what has become of the British pub!

Seats were comfy.

image.png

The beer served with a good amount of froth and cold!

Damn fine it was too...

image.png

Mrs T had a gin and tonic.

I stupidly forgot to ask for a tall glass. Why do the give you gin in the bulbous glasses with loads of ice. All you get is gin flavoured ice.

image.png

I think this guy was suspicious of the photos I was taking, or just being a nosey so and so!

image.png

I just love this glass. In days of old I would have halfinched one.

Although if I saw it on the street I would take it home, because we don't want it being broken now do we?

image.png

So what do you think, was this a good alternative to the coffee shop?

image.png

I certainly do. Of course much more expensive than a couple of cups of coffee, but well worth it!

Greene King brew Level Head

So who are Greene King and what is Level Head?

Level Head is then the Session IPA from the Greene King brewery.

You can read more about them in my previous post ... Loving my Level Head in Leven 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 on Beer 🍺 Saturday

The deets

Now you've made it difficult for me! You better invite me to have one of those cold beers and sparkling wine. You know what, I like 4 or 5° beers because it gives you the opportunity to talk more and share more! They are perfect beers for a quiet weekend. A hug, Ed! ;*

Yes they are a good beer and somehow I don't think you need many to talk and share. But of course I am inviting you and hope that you have a special Sunday. Big hugs from Scotland Nancy 😜

I think it was an amazing alternative to the coffee shop. That beer looked very refreshing. The glass, I agree, was neat. The Superbowl is on over here this evening and I just realized I have no beer on hand to drink while watching. Glad I read your post.

Yeah it is a real chunky glass. Oh right enough I saw somewhere the superbowl was on. Wife from. Colorado so a big Broncos fan, when they are out I never know who is left.
Go grab that beer and enjoy the game!

My oldest son brought me back two Guinness glasses from their brewery in Dublin a couple months ago. I haven't used them yet, but maybe today may be the day.
