You know something, for me the boundaries between web 2 and web 3 most definitely get blurry at times.

Isn't life all about taking the best bits from both worlds? No? Well it fluffing is in my book!

People on Hive can be too dismissive of all things web2, well let's get a grip for a minute, web2 platforms have hundreds of millions of users.

My favourite web 2 experience is Twitter or X as it is now called. I love it so much as a web 3 marketing tool that I am busy growing my alt account there and indeed I have even gone premium!

SocialFi or SocFi or SOFI

First of all does it really fluffing matter?

Personally I like the new format of SOFI and I think SocialFi shows the old way.

For Hive to blossom we need to be doing 2024 things not 2016 things.

Marketing of Hive, all I hear is Hive is decentralised blah blah, well great but the masses don't care.... The listing of the $HIVE token in Centralized Exchanges is getting smaller and smaller.

I mean god help Hive if heaven forbid Binance delists Hive. Not that far fetched a possibility!

Stars Arena, Friendtech those scammy sites are I think indicative of SocFi and a guess one reason why I don't like that term!

ENGAGEMENT FARMING on TWITTER/X

I remember the and of last year I think it was maybe a wee bit earlier, when the PORTAL craze swept Twitter. If you engagement farmed PORTAL on Twitter by commenting like retweeting things with $PORTAL in then you got points....

Some OGs here on Hive said it was spammy and scammy and don't do it, it makes you like whatever....

Me, Ifcuking listened to them!

Haha I did not take my own advice, I listened to someone about crypto that knew less than me as far as I am concerned....

The result ....

I STOPPED farming and did not get airdropped any PORTAL tokens ....

I tell you what, I would not have minded a big HIVE airdrop so I would have not minded a big PORTAL airdrop

LESSON LEARNED ....

Don't listen / take advice from Hive OGs with respect to what to do or not do on X/Twitter with respect to cryptocurrencies other than Hive!

So I am an Engagement Farmer!

Those are two projects that I farm!

Do you know all I heard from Hive OGs when i joined two years ago is the Splinterlands is the best it's the number one blockchain etc etc.

Well things have changed, there are companies making fluffing magic games.

Take $BUBBLE from Imaginary Ones ...

They are slick, the UI for everything to do is superb. Their game BUBBLE Rangers is addictive and awesome.

It works, everything works, unlike some of our Hive UIs. When people sign up they stay they want more.

Have you heard of Fortnite? Do you know these companies are signing up the world champions of games like that?

These web3 projects are on the next level!

They put out a post it gets millions of views! What does Hive get, a few thousand here and there...

I farm them all ...

Once a day farming

Now some things do look spammy I will give you that, so there are alternatives. Some people just farm one main project such as $BUBBLE or you can just do one or all of these 2 minute once a day projects...

It involves signing up with your Twitter/X account!

Then you usually push a button, and automatically send a tweet and puff that's it!

So what do you think, should web3 companies be using traditional social media for more marketing.

I think Hive has a thing or two from new web3 projects who successfully use web2 to brand their SOFI or projects to the max.

Imagine Splinterlands or Holozing having their tweets with millions of views .....
