From Passion to Profit, How I Built a Multipurpose Beauty and Business Brand Despite Health Challenges

Have you ever felt like your passion and pain were fighting for control of your life? That was me until I realized they could work together to build something beautiful.

I am not just an entrepreneur. I am a beauty specialist, a business consultant, a sickle cell warrior, and above all, a woman on a mission to empower others through my journey.

The Beginning: A Dream Bigger Than My Limitations

I grew up with a strong desire to create. From a young age, I was drawn to beauty, business, and building things from scratch. But as someone living with sickle cell, I also knew what it meant to navigate life with limits most people didn’t see.

There were days when my body felt like it was shutting down. Pain crises, fatigue and all reminders of what I couldn’t do. But each time, something stronger would rise within me: a passion to live a full life anyway.

So I decided to build my dreams on my own terms.

Arewa Glams & Biz Ltd: Where Beauty Meets Business

I started my brand, Arewa Glams & Biz Ltd, as more than a beauty business. It became a movement. A hub for everything I loved: haircare, skincare, perfumes, wigs, nail art, business registration services, and more. I infused it with my personality, creativity, and the grit I had learned from surviving.

But it wasn’t just about products. I wanted to help others turn their passion into profit too. So I added business consultancy, registrations (CAC, FIRS, JPT), and mentoring to my services. I began empowering others to start legally registered businesses of their own.

What I have Learned Along the Way

1. Your Weakness Can Be a Weapon
   My health slowed me down, but it also gave me the power to pause, reflect, and create intentionally. It pushed me toward low-physical, high-impact services and helped me discover untapped income streams.

2. Don’t Box Your Brand
   I didn’t fit into one category, so I stopped trying to. Whether it’s perfume-making or business coaching, your brand can reflect the fullness of you.

3. People Pay for Value, Not Pity
   I don’t market myself as “a sick entrepreneur.” I market myself as someone who solves problems beautifully and professionally.

4. God is My Strategy
   Faith has been my ultimate business partner. Every pivot, every idea, every connection, I trace them back to divine direction.

5. Visibility is Currency
   Platforms like Medium, LinkedIn, Hive, and Publish0x are changing the game. As a multipreneur, content is how I expand my reach and income.

So, Why Am I Writing This?

Because someone needs to hear it. That your struggles don’t cancel your dreams. That you can build something powerful and profitable even when the odds are against you.
