UNDERSTANDING

The word "understand" is rooted in "under," denoting a state of being subordinate or subjugated. Regarding the word "standing," it signifies having a support base, whether from family or friends. In matters of culture and marital relationships, it's essential to comprehend their true essence and significance of understanding.

Culture represents the collective way of life for people. And some of us still have misunderstandings about each other's cultures and religions, leading to diversity. In Nigeria, we have many tribes and various religious beliefs. Despite worshiping the same God, we do so in different ways.

For instance:The traditional community uses the term "OLODUMARE." Muslims refer to God as "ALLAH." Christians use the term "OLUWA."

All these words signify the same thing, referring to one God when viewed in essence. Hence, it's crucial to understand and respect each other's cultures, celebrating them without speaking ill of any. If your neighbor practices something that seems contradictory to your beliefs, it's best to remain silent and not disparage their way of worshiping their God.

Understanding other cultures contributes to the growth and development of a country and its people physically, mentally, fostering love and peace everywhere.

We also need to understand in some other aspect also like marital relationship the husband should be able to understand the wife while the wife should be able to understand their children. So understanding is one of the greatest traits that people should have in their mind and also implement it to their way of living.

SELF CONTROL

Self-control is the ability to manage one's mind and body in any situation in life. In today's world, things have taken a different turn. We witness youth engaging in activities like internet fraud (yahoo), rituals, and various other negative habits. This has caused numerous problems for the younger generation and those unable to control their impulses.

For a twenty year old, the pursuit of buying expensive bikes, luxurious cars, and using iPhones isn't advisable. Some youths feel compelled to emulate their peers in acquiring wealth and possessions. Many young people believe that spending money, riding bikes, driving cars, and attending different kinds of night parties is the correct path to follow.

However, if we can exercise self-control over our thoughts and actions, it will greatly benefit the youth striving for a successful and purposeful life.

LOYALTY

The word "loyal" represents both a brand and an expansive concept. To be loyal means to be honest and faithful, especially towards family, friends, and one's workplace. When one demonstrates loyalty to their country and workplace, incidents of embezzlement can be suppressed.

This fosters trustworthiness, enabling others to stand by that person in any situation they face.With these three traits understanding other people's cultures and religious beliefs, self-control, and loyalty.

I strongly believe that if people embrace and apply them, it will contribute to the growth and development of individuals and the country, both physically and in other aspects.

Furthermore, adopting these traits can help eliminate negative tendencies among the upcoming youth, who represent the future leaders.
