To Hate Adam Connor

An absolutely steamy and smutty storyline with just the right amount of humor. When I first saw an excerpt from this book on Instagram, I knew instantly, that I would enjoy reading it.
And true to my expectations, I loved this book! An enemies-to-lovers plot always have me smiling silly.

This is a smutty romance novel about Adam, a hot movie star, who has the ability to make anyone and everyone drool over him, and Lucy Meyers, who has sworn she doesn’t and wouldn’t want to have anything to do with love again.

Heartbroken and dumped by her hot ex-boyfriend, Lucy has to leave the home they shared together, to live with her superstar book writing best friend, Olive and her top shot actor husband Jason.

Their neighbor is Adam, who partly lives with his son, Aiden, after a confusing and messy split with his ex-wife, who is also a very popular actress.

Definitely a plot straight out of a movie screen was the first thing I thought.

Lucy and Olive, make it their duty, to spy on and drool over Adam, seeing they are neighbors.
Their spying goes well and unnoticed, till Olive has to go away with her husband for a vacation, and Lucy is caught and arrested for trespassing while trying to save Adams’s son Aiden from dying during one of her spying sprees.
Furious and enraged Lucy is arrested by hot-headed and angry Adam before she gets a chance to explain, and that is where the sizzling steamy, and smutty love story between Adam and Lucy begin.

This book was absolutely incredible in the right way. It had just the right dose of smut, and a balanced amount of character development.
I’ve always disbelieved the myth that love hits you when its most unexpected, till Lucy and Adam. Lucy believes the women in her family are cursed and doomed to be unloved, while Adam has little or no energy for love and romantic relationships.
Which is why it is very surprising, when Lucy falls head over heels in love with Adam who she sees as nothing but a sex tool at first.

There were so many enjoyable things about this book. From the banter between Lucy and Adam, to the intimate conversations between Olive and Lucy, that not only showed how close they were, but ensured there was definitely nothing like a dull moment when I was reading this book.
The characters were incredible, and I loved Lucy as a character. She was humorous, self-reliant, witty, and most definitely said what she wanted.

I also loved Aiden, because not only was he the glue that brought Adam and Lucy together, but he was also too smart, sensitive, and intelligent for his age.
Admittedly, there were a few twists in this book, that almost sent it off track, but the author, has just the perfect writing skills to keep us on track.

This book also did well as a standalone novel, seeing that it has a prequel that focuses more on Lucy and Olive’s friendship.
It was definitely a welcome and entertaining distraction from the world of complicated plots, and if you’re looking for just the right amount of steamy with equal dose of humor, then you should pick up ‘To Hate Adam Connor’
