A Proposal for Writing Prompts and Engagement Structure

Hello everyone,

I’ve really enjoyed being part of this community(Writing Club), because writing is something I genuinely love. At one point, this space felt alive and full of creativity, with diverse voices, and exciting posts. However, over time, activity seems to really have slowed down, and now only a few users post occasionally.

I believe this community still has great potential. We already have the subscribers, what we need now is structure and consistency to bring engagement back.

I would love to propose an idea that could help revive this space and make it active again.

The Core Problem

Many writers struggle with:

Not knowing what to write about

Feeling unmotivated without structure

Lacking a consistent space to share their work

Wanting feedback but not knowing how to get it. When there are no prompts or activities, even good writers go silent.

So Here’s the Proposal

I propose we introduce:

Option A: Weekly Writing Prompts

OR

Option B: Daily Writing Prompts

These prompts would help writers who lack ideas, Encourage consistent participation, Increase posting frequency, Create shared creative experiences, and Make the community feel alive again

How It Could Work

Weekly Prompt Format (Example)

Monday: Prompt is posted

Friday/Sunday: Submission deadline

Weekend: Feedback and discussion

Engagement & Quality

IMG_4143.jpeg

To improve learning and inspiration, members are encouraged to comment on at least two other submission. High-quality submissions could be pinned or featured weekly. Occasional themed months (e.g., Horror October, Romance February, Flash Fiction Week).

This actually allows beginners to learn, Experienced writers to showcase skill, Readers to enjoy high-quality content and of course community bonding.

Optional Additions (If Admins Approve)

Monthly writing challenges, Writing contests, Writer Spotlight posts.

Wondering how/why this will work?

Well, the community already has subscribers. All it lacks is direction, consistency and engagement triggers. So prompts create routine. Routine creates participation. Participation creates revival.

If needed, I’m willing to help create prompts, schedule weekly posts, assist with organizing submissions and help draft feedback guidelines.

I truly believe this space can be lively again. Thank you for considering this proposal.

I am not in this community. Not a serious writer either. But like your idea. I participate in writing prompts occasionally. Mostly like you said, when I am stumped for ideas.
