Surviving The Nigerian Holiday Road Trip

Traveling back home for the holiday's can be thrilling, exciting and all but the process of preparing and moving can be scary, expecially now that alot of insecurities are going on in my country

I almost did not make it home this year but thank goodness I did, my landlord's daughter inlaw even told me not to embark on the journey back home, but i miss home so much I had to.

Anyways my journey was quit scary to be sincere, I left my base at 7-7:30am thinking I will get home around 6pm or thereabout by bus, but other plans was being stirred up for me.

The journey had different layers to it because of the different buses I had to take to complete my journey and oh the prices for the various tickets where not cheap at all.

After getting to the second bus terminal, we waited for the bus to get full but passengers where not coming, so the driver decided to join us with another bus going to a different state but through thesame route as mine.

(Just my unkept tired face)

With the hold up that took few hours from our trip, to the tyre of our bus getting flattened by whatever, maybe by a nail on the federal road it was already 5pm, all bright but it was getting dark gradually.

(At this moment, I was already angry because I knew we will get to our destination late)

Well that didn't stop us from stopping at the eatery where we usually buy snacks and stretch our legs before the final laps of the journey. I was able to get some few snacks like meat pie and chicken pie and I added a non alcoholic beverage to it.

(Should have taken pictures of the snacks but forgot)

We later continued our journey which took another few hours before getting to the central park in my state which is the last stop for all inter-state vehicles, I later boarded a cab and another cab which took me to my home.

Finally I made it home few minutes past 10pm , I was already waited on by my elder sister who welcomed me with home cooked meal, rice and stew spiced up with beef, I which I took pictures of all these but I was already tired and frustrated with the long hours of sitting down all scrunched up by the window.

(You can already see how late it was)

That was my entire experience coming back home for the holiday's.

**Thank you for stopping by

I've changed a tire on a car before. It's not as easy as it looks. Even the best laid plans can go to pot.
