Yes prayer is very important in our day to day life because we wrestle not against flesh and blood but against principalities and powers (Ephesians 6:2)

Jesus also teaches his disciples how to pray (Matthew 6:9-13)

Thank you for throwing more light into this topic as it sharpens our spiritual life as believers.

I like the way one of my friend puts it after reading this post—

"When you buy a mobile phone, you do need a manual to know how the gadget works including the importance of Charging the phone before usage...

Prayer is the technology for powering the man or soldier that puts on the armour(1 thess. 5:16-18)

And giving the man light to use the armour to full capacity else you may think the armor is not working and you'd faint (Luke 18:1-8)

Prayer in itself is a whole series sir.
