When Life Gives You Lemons, Turn Them Into Art! (Digital Art)

Earlier today, my mom created one of our family's favorite drinks. It's lemon with ginger and honey!

When I saw the sliced lemons, it somehow inspired me to draw them. They looked so pretty, so it was a good chance to practice digital drawing.

And so, here it is!

Making this was so fun!

I was supposed to work this morning, but there was another earthquake last night, and it rained pretty heavily early this morning, which caused our internet connection to start acting up. That's why I decided to take some time off, and just draw and assist my mom with what she's making today.

Now, let's check out the drawing progress! :)

Using the lemons we had at home as a reference, I sketched it first and filled it in with the base color.

This slice took me the longest to make. As usual, I was experimenting to achieve the desired look for my artwork. Look at the multiple layers I used just for this one below... xD

Next, I made the three whole lemons on the other side.

Creating them was the most fun. It was interesting mixing and blending colors to make them at least a bit realistic. I suppose doing this one traditionally would also be really enjoyable. I'll try it the next time I have longer free time.

Then, I chose a built-in background from the app by watching an ad. This design and color would complement my artwork, so I decided on it.

And, of course, I added my signature to the artwork. It looks so refreshing. I'm actually quite happy with how it turned out.

Anyway, since I'm posting this using my PC, I decided to share a GIF version as well. I couldn't do this for my previous artwork because I just posted using my tablet, and I don't have an app to create GIFs using photos on it.

It's so fun to watch! :)
